Dr. Shane Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Our church has a low-income family. The husbands brother got sentenced to prison, his wife (a drug addict) had the kids taken away. So the member of our church (the husband of the low-come family) wanted to take his nieces and nephews in as foster kids. The state said they needed to have more space in their home. So a bunch of us men in the church got together and built an addition on to their home. It took us 3 Sundays. We can make a real difference. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Neil D Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 An older female member of our church was told that she would have to paint her mobile home in order for it to stay in the mobile home park that she was in. She didn't have the money, nor the ability to work on the home. The men's ministry leader in our church found out about it, rallied the men, and in 2 sundays, not only fixed leaks in the home, but painted it over. She was looking to put on ebay to sell and move in with her son, who she didn't get along well with the daughter-in-law. She helps with the local food bank program faithfully.... Back quite a number of years ago there was a family that came to church all the time. Than they purchased a car and we didn't see them for many years. than there are those that get stuff and are always thankful. Its not our place to decide who gets and who doesn't. No strings attached, just the same love Christ gave to so many people. Of course, we want to try to spend our offering dollars the best way we can but in giving we receive a blessing.
