Ekklesia, The Called Out Ones

"Church" is only mentioned in the New Testament and Jesus started the TRUE Church and the meaning is "Ekklesia" the called out ones.

Mt 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, ( a stone ) and upon this rock ( Himself ) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The meaning of the text is wrested to make it built on Peter but that is not the case at all.

Since church is the "called out ones" does that apply to any particular denomination. I say no way. What constitutes a church is the people gathered together in His name and He is present in their midst and His presence is by Spirit. We read,

Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

It is pointed out He MUST be worshipped in SPIRIT and in TRUTH.

You are in and of His called out ones if you follow Him and Him only in Spirit and in Truth and being of a denominational tax compliant structure does not save anyone.

Let His Word be your only creed book, takes you to the one and only way there is for salvation and the truth of all things.

I agree - the church is the body of all Christians who walk in the Spirit. It's not a denomination.

I guess this circles back to my asking what 'in Spirit and in truth' means, which we are already discussing elsewhere.
