Should the Bible have warning labels?

Granted this label came from a Lego picture bible called The Brick Bible but even without pictures should children be shielded from aspects of the Bible?

Quote:
- CONTENT NOTICE -

The Bible contains material some may consider morally objectionable and/or inappropriate for children. These labels identify stories containing:

N = nudity S = sexual content V = violence C = cursing

God is Good and so is His Word. It contains warnings that need to be heeded and some of the things God has done recorded there are some of the warnings. One of the most prominent one to be heeded now is, "come out of her My People" That is Great Babylon and it takes in practically the whole world today.

The things that do need warnings on these days are what is reccommeded, like TV, Ball Games, Movies, junk foods and the drugs of big pharma to name a few.

I have a warning of my own, get a good old KJV Bible it is the best available in general as the rest come from corrupted manuscripts and you can run the KJV with the Hebrew and Greek dictionary and Treasury of Scriptural Knowledge on your computer and you can study the Word with the pros.

The True Bible is a Blessing indeed.

I would suggest looking into the field of textual criticism. Since we don't actually have the original manuscripts, determining exactly what they said considering we have so many varied manuscripts is a problem. A problem that scholars have been hard at work on for hundreds of years, and which you seem to know very little about.

Although I'm sure you'll find the author's personal views disagreeable, the first four chapters of this book provide a very accessible, neutral, and uncontroversial introduction to the field. I'd highly recommend it for those chapters alone, even if you choose not to finish the book.

Igakusei and all,

On the Bible I find the best study ever to come out was by G. A. Riplinger. The title of it is, "New Age Bible Versions". It may very well be the most important book writen by man.

The co founder of the NASB Dr. Frank Logsdon who became deeply repentant of his work in bringing about the NASB, had this to say in just one sentence of his repenting agony,

"You can say the Authorized Version ( KJV ) is absolutely correct. How correct? 100 % correct! ... I believe the Spirit of God led the translators of the Authorized Version. If you must stand against everyone else, stand".

I bought the book when it first came out at an ABC but can be gotten at any good book store and it is a must for every true believer there is no doubt in my mind.

It's a terribe, terrible conspiracy the changes, left outs and changes from the proven texts that the KJV alone comes from.

There is a proving system in the Hebrew texts to know if even a jot or tittle was added or removed in copying and if it was it all had to be done over. It is called the "Received Text" because it passes the test. Those texts have been saved down through the centuries and we can know we have the true. Then it was not very hard to obtain the true ones of the Greek.

You can be sure of your Bible if it is a KJV and not even the NKJV is really good.

Maybe women shouldn't teach after all?

Just kidding people. Don't beat me up.

On the serious note, I don't think that the whole Bible is for undeveloped mind of a child.

Certainly the Song of Solomon should have a warning. The title is even a bit misleading. Some might think it is a hymnal and be shocked with all that pillow talk.

The Song of Solomon is the last thing I would be worried about as a parent. It talks about sex poetically, and I doubt that child would pick up on it. The book of judges on other hand...

Quote:
While they were enjoying themselves, some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house, “Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him.”

23 The owner of the house went outside and said to them, “No, my friends, don’t be so vile. Since this man is my guest, don’t do this outrageous thing. 24 Look, here is my virgin daughter, and his concubine. I will bring them out to you now, and you can use them and do to them whatever you wish. But as for this man, don’t do such an outrageous thing.”

25 But the men would not listen to him. So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go. 26 At daybreak the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, fell down at the door and lay there until daylight.

27 When her master got up in the morning and opened the door of the house and stepped out to continue on his way, there lay his concubine, fallen in the doorway of the house, with her hands on the threshold. 28 He said to her, “Get up; let’s go.” But there was no answer. Then the man put her on his donkey and set out for home.

29 When he reached home, he took a knife and cut up his concubine, limb by limb, into twelve parts and sent them into all the areas of Israel. 30 Everyone who saw it was saying to one another, “Such a thing has never been seen or done, not since the day the Israelites came up out of Egypt. Just imagine! We must do something! So speak up!”

Quote:
“Most blessed of women be Jael,

the wife of Heber the Kenite,

most blessed of tent-dwelling women.

25 He asked for water, and she gave him milk;

in a bowl fit for nobles she brought him curdled milk.

26 Her hand reached for the tent peg,

her right hand for the workman’s hammer.

She struck Sisera, she crushed his head,

she shattered and pierced his temple.

27 At her feet he sank,

he fell; there he lay.

At her feet he sank, he fell;

where he sank, there he fell—dead.

There are quite a bit of the Bible stories that children should not read or be told.

All should know Solomon became a sinful man and when a child is introduced to those writings it needs good parental guidance of christian parents. Who do you think should teach your child about those intimate things but you?

If you don't get the job done at an early age they will at an early age get an education of it that is not right. Yes they need to understand this theme rightly before the evil one gets there first.

You send them off to school and with other ones and they will get it like you may not want to believe.

It is a fearful thing today to bring up a child in the nurture of the Lord Jesus Christ and few can do it. Ultimately you must be the teacher now as schools now are not going even a little in the christian slant. Mine went to a SDA church school and we encountered many wrong things they would come home with. Then we would work to have them to see what the truth is.

It must be that the child willing confides in the parents and the parent must be careful not to break the child wanting to confide all things to them. You must develope a loving bond that they open up there growning minds and hearts to be guided by them knowing that the parents are of Jesus Christ and follow Him.

Those first years are the foundation years that child needs from the parents to truly be a child of God. Take them to the Words of the greatest teacher of all, Jesus Christ and His Word

I admonish, go to the best, the KJV, check out the changes of the great confusion brought in by all the "New Age Bible Versions"

I don't believe that God kills. My recently retired pastor didn't believe it either. The general population during Old Testament times believed that there were many gods. Gods that made people sick, gods that made people well, gods that killed infants, and gods that allowed them to live. Moses came along and said that there is only one God. The believers and bible writers attributed everything, good and bad, to God.
