I think you're right, but I bet Obama doesn't want to debate Gingrich. He would doubtless much rather debate Romney, although Romney is also a good debater.

I think Gingrich's nomination would energize Obama's base in a way that Romney's wouldn't.

Personally I am fine with either man. I agree more with Gingrich than with Romney.

I would like to see both men on the same ticket, but I doubt that happens.

You are exactly right. If the Republicans want to give the Democrats a reason to show up to the polls, they should nominate Gingrich. If Republicans want Democrats to sit at home on election day, they should nominate Romney.

You are exactly right. If the Republicans want to give the Democrats a reason to show up to the polls, they should nominate Gingrich. If Republicans want Democrats to sit at home on election day, they should nominate Romney.

Problem is that both men are not conservative enough for conservatives. Newt has way too many issues which will eventually become clear. I think there's a strong possibility of an outsider to step in, The current line up is a disaster for the GOP chances.

I disagree. I think Romney is a fine candidate. Huntsman is very low in the polls but he is another fine candidate. Santorium is also low in the polls and a bit more conservative than what I like but could certainly beat Obama. Romney and Huntsman, both having been governors, are obviously the best choices.

Gingrich is Obama's best chance to win re-election. Gingrich is a scholar and very qualified. That is not the issue. The issue is that he is so hated by the Left. He is probably hated more than Bush because Gingrich actually succeeded in impeaching the Left's favorite President. If Gingrich gets the nomination it will mean Democrats will be able to raise hundreds of millions more dollars to defeat him than if Romney or another Republican wins.

I agree Shane, I think Romney is a great candidate and could beat Obama. But so can any other candidate be it Republican or Democrat. It will be the people of this country that will say who wins. Just like in "08 the people were tired of what was going on and wanted a change, so they elected Obama or who ever the democrats would have had as the candidate. Its gonna be the same in this election, are they again ready for a change or are they still tired of the Republicans.
