Administrators Gail Posted December 13, 2011 Administrators Posted December 13, 2011 From Huffington Post: Quote: Beware of dog. A Florida man became the second hunter in the past two weeks to be shot by his own pooch when his bulldog, Eli, discharged a rifle into his leg on Saturday. Billy E. Brown, 78, was shot once in the thigh as he drove to a deer hunting spot in Pasco County with a friend, MyFoxTampaBay reports. “[brown's] friend was riding next to him in the front seat, with the dog and the gun in between them,” Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Gary Morse told ABC News. As the trio drove down a rough limestone road, Eli "got excited in the truck" and knocked against their rifle, firing off a round, another Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission told TBO. Hit just above the right knee, Brown was brought to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa where he underwent surgery. His condition is described as critical, but stable, according to TBO. Late last month, a Utah hunter was shot in the buttocks by his dog during a botched duck hunt. Doctors dislodged 27 pellets of bird shot from the 46-year-old's body following the mishap. Administrators Gail Posted December 13, 2011 Author Administrators Posted December 13, 2011 At first I thought to put this in the non-serious Townhall section, but then I thought that the two guys in the story would have thought it to be VERY serious!!! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

I did not want to add insult to their injuries Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Liz Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 While I think this is funny, what I don't understand is why these "avid" hunters were transporting their guns without the safety on?
