Administrators Gail Posted December 19, 2011 Administrators Posted December 19, 2011 LOL In spite of Yoko Ono's whiney singing voice I still like this protest song as one of my favourites at this time of year. Clearly he was trying to see past Establishment to the bigger priorities. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Members phkrause Posted December 19, 2011 Members Posted December 19, 2011 I really love this song. Have always enjoyed Lennon's songs. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Moderators Kevin H Posted December 20, 2011 Moderators Posted December 20, 2011 John Lennon was a seeker and had something reaching out. I remember when he died I heard a radio preacher say "Satan killed John Lennon because he relized that this was the only way to get him to hell because John Lennon was slowly accepting more and more Christian principles in his life [and he listed several events and places where John would do one thing while younger then change] and Satan knew that if he did not take John Lennon that John Lennon would eventually become a Christian and that Satan would have lost him so he wanted to get John Lennon in hell before that happened" This is a very powerful song, and on one of my Norwegian Christmas CD's it has this song in Norwegian!!! I for one am not gonna judge him, but I wonder how this minister knows that? Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted December 20, 2011 Administrators Posted December 20, 2011 Of interest - http://www.cbn.com/entertainment/Books/carey_john_lennon.aspx Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth.
