Overaged Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 I was in a bank a short while ago to do some banking. The young fellow I was talking with got interrupted in the middle of our meeting by his Dad. It was easy to see by the way he lit up that he had such a great relationship with his Dad, it was quite enjoyable to just sit there and watch him talk to his father. It sounded like it was about Christmas stuff they were planning... He kept the phone call short, but when he was done, he apologized for the interruption. As he was apologizing, the thought struck me that atleast his Dad can call. Mine can't. He died a few years ago. I was going to say that to him, but I knew if I did that I would likely burst out in tears. But I did say to him that the interruption was no problem; and that it was good to see young people close to their parents. So; I guess I would just say, Merry Christmas to all, and that if you have any walls between yourself and a family member, maybe it's time to think about doing what it takes to tear those walls down. Make it a truly Merry Christmas by showing your love, not just saying it in a card. Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." (Job 37:21)"I cannot know why suddenly the stormshould rage so fiercely round me in it's wrathBut this I know: God watches all my pathAnd I can trust""God helps us to draw strength from the storm" - OveragedFaith makes things possible; it does not make them easy, Steps To Christ

aka Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 imo, there is something strange about you David, that makes be worry. When does the holy Godhead need to be given a verbal "Merry Christmas? Quote
aka Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 DougG, I am sorry to have slipped and called you David ~~~~~~~~~~ Richard, I am just a sub-Toothfairy with low ranking. All the teeth collected I have to give up to the Major Toothfairy. A very powerful fascinating being indeed. Each year there is a conference of fable creatures meeting somewhere on earth. The head committee consists of the Easter Bunny, the Santa Claus, the Toothfairy and the Tinkerbell. These are promoting the comfort-for-children hypothesis which later in their adult life lingers on so the ruse gets poured onto the next generation of kiddies. The annual business meeting has to do with discovering new ways of commercially increasing sugary temptations so more association of positive feelings go to the above members of the Board of Fable Creatures.
