Woody Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Don't much matter. Obama is Obama no matter who he has beside him. I suspect Obama will do something more dramatic such as attack Iran. I can hear the Obama war drums now. Obama would love to attack Iran. And the supply of oil is just the excuse he needs. Today they are talking about the price of gas going to over $8.00 a gallon. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Obama has never seen a war he didn't love. Killing a bunch of Iranians would be a feather in his cap as far as he is concerned. The government will start price-controls and rationing in order to stop that from happening. We can make gasoline from coal for $3.00/gallon. Of course it would take 2-5 years to get the refineries built or modified to do that on a grand scale but in the long run, the US is not dependent on foreign oil unless we choose to be. Here's the deal. We could be drilling our own oil such as is plentiful and easily available in Alaska. But Obama sides with the enviornmental extremists. Considering that there was a lot of press regarding how soon he could pull the troops out of the area, I would tend to think that there were some very specific campaign promises on getting our men and women out of harms ways ASAP..... The reason the troops were pulled out of Iraq was due to a diplomatic failure on the part of the Obama Administration. They wanted to keep the troops there longer but were unable to secure the extension of diplomatic immunity for them. So if we didn't pull the troops out, local Iraqi policemen would have been able to arrest and jail our soldiers and the soldier would have had to deal with the Iraqi judicial system.
