Moderators LynnDel Posted January 1, 2012 Moderators Posted January 1, 2012 Hi all, I am trying to find another phrase for "Jewish economy" because it can be misunderstood to mean less than is meant in its usual theological/historical context. I have no difficulty understanding its meaning, but wish for a phrase with a less possible chance of misunderstanding. Most definitions deal with finances and management of finances. However, in religious books where Jewish economy is mentioned, the following definition is what is meant, though probably obscure in the present day, judging by how rare this particular definition is: * the system of rules and regulations by which anything is managed; orderly system of regulating the distribution and uses of parts, conceived as the result of wise and economical adaptation in the author, whether human or divine; as, the animal or vegetable economy; the economy of a poem; the Jewish economy Is there another phrase that could be substituted for Jewish economy in order to be more clear to the average person in the present day? Thanks, LynnDel Quote LD

That being so, I thought it appropriate for this forum; that, y'all would not only be familiar with it but comfortable. Besides, it is Greek in origin and, I thought, apropos. However, ...suggestions? Besides, I thought you never ventured onto this board. Good to see the Queen's English properly used. Quote
jasd Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 >>Puppeteerss of the NWO.<< That may be considered bold by some. That said, how about Players? Major Players. Quote
Moderators LynnDel Posted January 2, 2012 Author Moderators Posted January 2, 2012 I am asking because I want to suggest alternatives for a book I am editing - a book which is not necessarily targeted toward those who would be familiar with the phrase, "Jewish economy." When I read "Jewish economy" in EGW, I understand it to mean their entire intertwined social, ceremonial, and governmental system. I am not at all critical of the phrase, just wish there were a phrase that was clearer to the generations below me and at the same time as all-encompassing. Is that possible? LD Quote LD
Gibs Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 LynnDel, "Jews, The Worlds Leadership?" Or leave off the question mark and make it a statement and not a question. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
