tribeofjudah Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Which came first: the chicken or the egg...??? I feel that way with names of cities/towns in the bible (sometimes only) This text talks about DAN, but he came later as the son of Jesse: Gen 14:14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained [servants], born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued [them] unto Dan. Maybe there is town named Dan as well as a state of Dan...? Then there is the confusing thing about HARAN the man and Haran the city/town/area: Gen 11:28 And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees. Gen 11:31 ΒΆ And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. What say you, my brothers......??? There are many other examples, I'm sure. Quote
