I think, more broadly, it's because he's a moderate. Limbaugh said, ""they're just a bunch of arrogant, conceited -- and at the same time -- ignorant people". I think that's the opinion of much of the GOP base. Interestingly, they'll probably end up with a moderate which will be their best chance to win. Dr. Shane Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 The question is, 'why does Rush consider Romney a moderate'? There are basically two reasons. 1. Romney believes humans contribute to global climate change. 2. Massachusetts health care program. The thing about the Massachusetts health care is that it was taken from a model promoted by the conservative Heritage Foundation. Yes, the Obama Administration used the Massachusetts program as a model but only because Obama lacked the leadership skills required to get his fellow Democrats to support a single-payer system. So Romney really isn't a moderate. Rush and other far-right conservatives are just trying to paint him that way because they hate his position on global climate change. I think his religion may have something to do with it too but I have not heard any of his critics actually say that. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... While the Heritage Foundation is conservative does not mean they are the beginning and end.Without negative motives people can come to another opinion.Some cannot allow for that.Their petty little universe demands all be operating the way they do. Personally I believe those that play "I spy" racism/discrimination in others at every turn has a mountain to climb in taking care of their own attitude.
