I think it was Martha Hoover on the O'Reilly Factor last night that made a point the US Constitution grants rights it doesn't take them away. She was talking about a gay marriage amendment.

However I think she is mistaken.

The 16th Amendment takes away the right to earn income without being taxed for doing so.

The 18th Amendment took away the right to sell and manufacturer alcohol.

The 22nd Amendment took away the right of an individual to serve more than two consecutive terms as President.

The 27th Amendment took away the right for Congressmen and Senators to give themselves a raise between elections.

I'm very surprised that O'Reilly didn't pick this up. He prides himself on knowing all.
