Gibs Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 I can feel it in my soul, a popular song says and that sounds good but is it true? Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, To really BELIEVE is to know without any doubt and that is what our Lord had above, last 2 verses and this same Faith we must have. The absolute knowing He has pardoned us and we are His and He will raise us also at the last day as He was raised. If a one then have that true Faith I won’t argue with him that he can’t feel it in his soul but for me it has to come back to knowing and trusting fully in His pardon and my full repentance and then following obedience. When obedience is dropped then a backslidden state has occurred and this needs to be realized, any and all can backslide and many are deceived by slick well oiled orators of deception that now sin committed is already forgiven. No friends, when He forgives us He admonishes us, Go Sin No More! Yes, you now can as Christ dwells in those He has forgiven and you now have His power to walk in this world as He walked. Know this, He was an over comer and we must be also. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Yes, all sins have been forgiven, the Bible says: NASB Colossians 2:13 And when you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions Is the verse quoted above untrue? If it is true, why can't you seem to believe it? What hinders you from believing it? Quote

If it is true, why can't you seem to believe it? What hinders you from believing it? Yes it is true. According to Colossians 2:13 it sounds like one is "dead in transgressions" and then something happens to make one "alive together with Him". Methinks somewhere between those two positions of being dead and alive "all our transgressions were forgiven", not before those two positions. I wonder what "IT" was that caused that to happen? Just wondering. . .Could "IT" be confession and repentance? Q.E.D. Quote Satanic Verses-Salman Rushdie.

Methinks somewhere between those two positions of being dead and alive "all our transgressions were forgiven", not before those two positions. I wonder what "IT" was that caused that to happen? Just wondering. . .Could "IT" be confession and repentance? Q.E.D. Well, the verse is straightforward. It was God Who, through Christ, made us alive having forgiven us, that is, after forgiving us, our trespasses. Forgiveness of sin removed that which separated man from God, which is sin. With no sin separating God and man, man is again attached to God Who is Life and man became alive. It was God's act why man became alive, not man's because man was still dead and therefore cannot yet do any act for him to become alive. Note that the verse says we were made alive "together with Him [Christ]". The "making alive" was done corporately, NOT individually, as in when a person believes. The keyword is "together". Not one by one. Man has absolutely no part in his being forgiven from sin and made alive. Man was still dead in sin when he was forgiven from all sins. And being dead, he cannot yet repent nor confess. 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. Gibs Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 That Thar would be once saved always saved! Sure you are forgiven for all sin to the time you come and repent and surrender but you are not to continue in sin. None will be saved in sin, there will be no sinners in Heaven. The fitting up is now, if you don't get the victory now you will not be in His Kingdom. A death of the old man must occur, Ro 6:1 ¶ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Ro 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Ro 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Ro 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. If there wasn't more to it Jesus wouldn't have said, "go sin no more". Each one must overcome sin in this life, there is something each must do. That is, put on the Divine Nature. Christ in you and this was a mystery to the Gentiles but not to the Jews. Paul states, Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Then your will is His will and your love His love and the Devils see Him dwelling in you and they are defeated foes. This is the only way one will ever be an overcomer and all must. Read, Re 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. People want to be saved their way and it will not work, His Way is The Only Way. Your all must be given, not one little pet thing with held. Self must die and each must be full broken upon the Rock. The Devils believe more sure than any of us as they were given the boot by Him and yet they are not saved. All those and the ones in the second resurrection will be ashes on this earth as our God is a "consuming flame" that devours them totally. You'll never be able to wrest your own way of salvation. Surrender and be Broken now or it will be never is the Gospel. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Gibs Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 Samie, NASB Colossians 2:13 And when you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions You only highlighted the part you liked. The KJV is better, Col 2:13 ¶ And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Sure but the being dead to sin is the important part, like Paul states, Ro 6:1 ¶ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Ro 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? It's bad enough to believe how you do but to teach others that is regretable and obnoxious to me. He made it so you can be "dead to sin" take Him up and then you won't die that second death, the eternal death. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Samie Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 There are 3 tenses of salvation: past, present, future. In the past tense, God saved us all - no one excluded nor left out - from sin through the death of Christ on the cross, forgiving us from all sins. NASB Ephesians 2:4-5 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), NASB Colossians 2:13-14 13 And when you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us and which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. In the present tense, God through Christ is saving us all from sin by not imputing any sin committed since these had been forgiven on the cross. In fact, God refuses to remember any sin. KJV 2 Corinthians 5:18,19 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. KJV Hebrews 10:16-17 16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. In the future tense, God will ultimately save us, IF we have overcome evil in our lives (Rom 12:21), and we shall then inherit eternal life. Only those whose names remain in, and were not blotted out from, the book of life will inherit life eternal (Rev 21:27). All others will be thrown into the lake of fire (Rev 20:15). Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. This is the essence of the Pure Gospel. Quote

Gibs Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 It boils down to what we REALLY love. Self or Him. 1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. Again If you don't find His Way to be an overcomer ya ain't a gonna get there. Read em all, they will tell you. 1Jo 5:4 1Jo 5:5 Re 2:7 Re 2:11 Re 2:17 Re 2:26 Re 3:5 Re 3:12 Re 3:21 Re 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Are we expected to? You bet as He made it so we could. That is what it is all about, that all who are His are totally free within his will. Are you free completly within His Will? It must Be! 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
olger Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Feelings are altogether unreliable as a guide to truth. "Eve saw that the tree was good.." (Genesis 3:6). Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

Gibs Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 "Faith" not "presumption" works. Presumption has no works, as it presumes it is all done. And so a rest on the "lees". Jas 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Gibs Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 I'm sure you do Woody, but your faith must be in Christ not your feelings is what Olger was refering to. Faith in Him that He in you is the overcoming power you must have. He said go sin no more after you ask for forgiveness and then He made it possible if you have faith. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Samie Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 It boils down to what we REALLY love. Self or Him. Luke 10:27 ...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. There is no question we must love God supremely. But must we not love ourselves as well? If we don't love our own self, how can we love our neighbor as ourselves? Quote

olger Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Feelings are never the guide to what is right. They are the reward for doing right. "Eve saw that the tree was good" is a classic example of the error that our feelings are capable of. What was she really looking at? Blood. Weapons. Gunpowder. Abel's death. Hospitals. Loneliness. Fear. and property tax! Kick feelings off of the throne of your life and let us live by principle. rejoice always, g Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Gibs Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 Woody, You state, "We must have Him. But having Him does not insure overcoming. I have Him but I continue to struggle with sin and will do so till the day I die." Here is where you must exercise your power to will to do Christ's will over your pet thing whatever it is. You must set your face like flint to will to do His will and each time it comes around then it will have less power to break down your will to do His until it is fully whipped. Yes His indwelling is your only hope of overcoming and is a surity as the evil ones see Him in you and know they are defeated foes when You will to do only His will and the battle is won and you and Christ are victorious in you. Exercise that faith! 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
