To Call The Sabbath A Delight

My morning devotion was taken from Isa 58:13 & 14 ... it touched me in a special way. I wanted to share it with my C/A family.

13 “If because of the sabbath, you turn your foot

From doing your own pleasure on My holy day,

And call the sabbath a delight, the holy day of the LORD honorable,

And honor it, desisting from your own ways,

From seeking your own pleasure

And speaking your own word,

14 Then you will take delight in the LORD,

And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;

And I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,

For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

Here in Michigan we got hit with a pretty good snow storm Thursday night thru Friday morning. Very beautiful, snow on the trees and ground. The main roads are cleaned up pretty good, but the road in front of my house, not so much. This Sabbath morning, I warm up the car, shovel snow. My family is 99% (you know how females are) ready to go to church. I say 'today would be a nice day to have home church.' I said that mainly to see what kind of reaction I would get, knowing that it would be extremely popular, even with myself.

Well we did travel the half hour to church, and it was worth it. It was worth it for all the reasons there are for GOING to church. I guess if I had to limit it to one word it would be, fellowship. Encouraging and being encouraged. The Sabbath was a delight today. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

YES. So true. One can get "instructions" or sermons - by most ANY means. But fellowship is something you just can't get anywhere else than church.

SO very important.
