M. T. Cross Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 As I travel through the religios communities that I lurk about on the net, in real life, I find an ever repeating theme. People get so very caught up in labels and thier definitions. Monotheism polytheism pantheism panentheism salvation etc etc etc. Within all those everyone argues about this and that to do with the defining of those labels. What is it in us that needs things so very neatly defined? Why can we not see that there are so many blurry lines between all beliefs, so many similiar trains of thought that we could easily just let the other guys that their point of view without the need to tell them they are WRONG. Debate and discussion and presenting your way of thought is great, its is very important to growth and to moving our species forward spiritually, but why oh why oh why this incredible need to be that one that has THE ANSWER? It gives me the hugest headache..... Quote
Gibs Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 E C, I'm agreeable to what you are saying. One label that I don't like is "theology", as I don't believe in theology. That is theory and if is truth then it is no longer theology. The only time theology fits is when the presentation is proven by His Word to not be truth. That is a poor explanation I know but you may get the gest of what I'm saying. I also like your list there, "the total sum" I might add that Truth is Love God, Jesus is Love Jesus is Truth They are One. You are right a good discussion is a great thing, I like that. Blessings, 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Woody Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Quote: I don't believe in theology I picked that up early when you started posting. Theology is the "study of God". If one doesn't study God he will miss out on much. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Gibs Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 OK Woody, but to me I find "theology" to be a theologians view. His theory of the matter. I make a study of God's Word to us to learn His Truth for us. Sure I know the world sees theology as a great thing but when the truth is arrived at theology is gone is my stance. May you be blessed in your study, truly. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. I pray we all are theologians. 2 Tim. 2:1 "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
