My experience is this, I have never read a more Christ Centered writer, than that of Ellen White.

I have found those, laypeople and clergy, who do not, tend to have an empty spiritual life. That is just my experience.

EGW's writings are the best Bible commentary I ever come across and I don't mean just the commentary books. Get a disc, they now are low cost and learn how to search it and get the best answers available anywhere and guidance.

I look forward to meetin her some wonderful day and I know it is not much further down the road of time.

I am blessed by her writings and I pray His blessing to all who study His Word the Bible for the truth and her writings to guide you to the scriptures you need.

I don't know about empty spiritual lives, but I know that I have been enriched by her writings a LOT.

What IF she is the person found in Rev. 2:18-26? What then? After my extensive research on just about all of her writings I have come to the conclusion that her teaching have indeed led those who would have been bondservants for Jesus Christ, astray. Take page 433 of the GC for instance, many people have the idea that Jesus could come any time because of what she wrote and said, but he truth is, the 144k have not been sealed yet nor has the time of trouble started.

I was most familiar with Ministry of Healing and her work about educating children. Our home-schooling experience was very blessed indeed!

For all the anger and heat I have taken for my positions on Ellen White I want to say this:

1. Very little of what she wrote came directly from God.

2. It is clear that Ellen White loved God/Jesus Christ very much and wanted others to know about this Great Eternal God/Jesus Christ.

3. She wanted others to know what she knew (her personal opinion and experience with God/Jesus Christ) about this God.

4. In an effort to give others the best picture she could Ellen White tried to use "outside sources" prolifically who would present what she "believed to be true" in the best way possible.

It is a shame that Ellen White did not give proper credit to these sources.

5. Ellen White did amazing things for women, and for men too, in regard to cultural things like dress, home life, raising children, the roles of woman/men in the home/work place, etc., etc. Ellen White had great insight into the "nature of addiction" (zeroing in on alcohol, tobacco) but does apply to any addiction (drugs, immorality issues, etc. etc.)

6. There are times when her writings are in conflict with the Bible and in my opinion she either was ignorant of such cases and or had been taught the Bible teaches things different than what it actually says.

I could be wrong but I don't think she knowingly was dishonest or blatantly lied and covered up.

7. I do in my opinion think there were those around her and at the GC/leadership who did know the truth and did lie/cover up things that were false and not true.

These same ones also manipulated the "writings and work" of Ellen White. Despite denials from those who "worship Ellen White" when they say that Ellen White kept a "tight lid on things" and would never let such things happen, the reality is that it would have been impossible for Ellen White, herself, to know everything that was going on in her name.

When you as prolific as Ellen White was it would have actually been impossible to know every "little" thing going on in the process and make sure that everything is as she wants it.

People around Ellen White clearly had more control of things than Ellen White realized and/or could have realized.

In addition, I think it is a great shame that SDA and the SDA Church .org have tried to make Ellen White:

AN SDA SAINT!

This is a kin to the RCC/Pope making Mary the Mother of Jesus Christ a saint to be worshiped.

I am not so sure she wanted others to know of her personal opinion. I think that it was actually more of - others that wanted to know her personal opinon and worship it.

She may have been manipulated into allowing it.

Good point. I am sure she was pressured to write, write, and write some more by the "brethren" (including her husband and son Willie).

Willie White does give me the "willies". I am convinced that he was a very manipulative person.

Judging from this, I would have to say that either you have no idea what you are talking about, or you are deliberately trying to deceive people. Which one is it?

No! Not Dr Rich! Say it ain't so? :)

Richard my friend, please read what Jesus gave us to read in Rev. 11:15-19 and you will see that the temple of God which is in heaven was opened ONLY after the Seventh Trumpet had sounded, and with it were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and great hailstones. The very next thing that happens is that Jesus comes.

Verse 15 shows that before the ark of the covenant was opened, the kingdom of the world had become the kingdom of our Lord. Has that happened yet? Nope! Has God's wrath came yet? (verse 18) Nope! Has the reward been given to the bondservants, prophets and saints yet? Nope! Has all of the "woes" happened yet? Nope!

Here is the thing, just reading the GC alone would cause confusion because EGW failed to understand that ALL of the events during the time of trouble had to have happend before the ark of the covenants was opened. At the time she wrote this, she honestly believed that everthing had already happened and that the two witnesses in the same chapter were the old and new testiment, not realizing that the bible had not yet been put together when the words of John were written for the book of Revelation. Therefore, what she thought, was not only wrong, her writings have clearly mislead and still misleads many today such as yourself into believing things that just are not true!

In the P&P, she goes on and on about how Noah preached for 120 years, but that is totally wrong as the bible makes it clear that Noah was NOT commanded by God preach or teach anything to anyone! Matthew 24:38-39 proves that NO ONE KNEW anything about any flood coming except for Noah and his family. If Noah had preached, he sure was a lousy preacher, plus, God said that ONLY Noah and his sons and wives would be saved. God did NOT lie. There was no need to preach to anyone as God's words were true.

Today, most of the preachers and teachers and leaders of the SDA church still believe this mistaken idea. Have not they (bondservants) been led astray by her teachings?

Look Richard, I am just pointing out things that I have found that she wrote about that can't be verified by what God said. Ask any major preacher or teacher in the GC today the question "Can Jesus come at any time?" and see what kind of answers you get? I find this rather sad!

Poor EGW.

She mistakenly believed that the events of the Last Days occurred in the 19th century. Since the End of the World did not occur in that period, she had to create the rescue hypothesis that Christ could return at any time. If one discounts the Dark Day, the annual October meteor shower, and the Lisbon earthquake as exaggerations or misinterpretations, one might realize that events similar to these, but on a worldwide, cataclysmic, scale, will immediately precede the End of the World.

That said, she and/or her assistants, with the help of their unnamed sources, produced a few rather nice books, (I really like Desire of Ages) but a number of her published works contain duplications, evidenced by searching for any particular word or phrase in the database.

Ever hear it said that one bad apple makes the whole bushel bad? Is the deception worse when it sounds nice yet is not the whole truth?

The serpant's words to Eve were nice too, but they were also deceiving. And the story told in P&P about Noah being a great preacher for 120 years sounds nice too, but it too has deceived many as Jesus made it clear in Matthew 24 that when the flood came NO ONE knew a darn thing about it.
