SDA's, Awake, Arise and Shine!

This thread concerns SDA's.

I've been hearing it for some time that SDA's are on their "lees" instead of on their "knees" in serious witnessing the soon coming of Jesus Christ again to this earth. I notice it too, and the signs are so thick and heavy now that it's appalling you don't hear the wake up call no more.

Adventists? That used to mean something, like we believe He is coming soon! The time of the end began in 1844 and how long do we believe the time of the end to be? Forever? Oh No! It now is at the doors and why aren't our people seeing it and proclaiming it.

This is the last generation that will be on this earth I am very sure and the one Luke speaks of in these verses.

Lu 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

Lu 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Lu 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Lu 21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Lu 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

" Men are prone to abuse the long-suffering of God, and to presume on His forbearance. But there is a point in human iniquity when it is time for God to interfere; and terrible are the issues. "The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked" (Nahum 1:3). The long-suffering of God is wonderful, because He puts constraint on His own attributes; but punishment is nonetheless certain.

Every century of profligacy has treasured up wrath against the day of wrath; and when the time comes, and the iniquity is full, then God will do His strange work. God has thrust His people into the gap, to make up the hedge, to raise up the foundation of many generations. The heavenly intelligences, angels that excel in strength, are waiting, obedient to His command, to unite with human agencies; and the Lord will interpose when matters have come to such a pass that none but a divine power can counteract the satanic agencies at work. When His people shall be in the greatest danger, seemingly unable to stand against the power of Satan, God will work in their behalf. Man's extremity is God's opportunity. {2SM 373.1}

Now is the time when the loyal and true are to arise and shine; for the glory of the Lord is risen upon them. It is no time now to hide our colors, no time to turn traitors when the battle presses sore, no time to lay aside our weapons of warfare. Watchmen on the walls of Zion must be wide awake. {2SM 373.2}

I am so thankful at this time that we can have our minds taken off from the difficulties that surround us, and the oppression that is to come upon the people of God, and can look up to the heaven of light and power. If we place ourselves on the side of God, of Christ and the heavenly intelligences, the broad shield of Omnipotence is over us, the mighty God of Israel is our helper, and we need not fear. Those who touch the people of God, touch the apple of His eye.... {2SM 373.3}

The Vessel Needs To Be Cleaned and Right Side Up

We need not worry about the latter rain. All we have to do is to keep the vessel clean and right side up and prepared for the reception of the heavenly rain, and keep praying, "Let the latter rain come into my vessel. Let the light of the glorious angel which unites with the third angel shine upon me; give me a part in the work; let me sound the proclamation; let me be a colaborer with Jesus Christ." Thus seeking God, let me tell you, He is fitting you up all the time, giving you His grace. {UL 283.3}

You need not be worried. You need not be thinking that there is a special time coming when you are to be crucified. The time to be crucified is just now. Every day, every hour, self is to die; self is to be crucified; and then, when the time comes that the test shall come to God's people in earnest, the everlasting arms are around you. The angels of God make a wall of fire around about and deliver you. {UL 283.4}

All your self-crucifixion will not do any good then. It must be [done] before the destiny of souls is decided. It is now that self is to be crucified--when there is work to do; when there is some use to be made of every entrusted capability. It is now that we are to empty and thoroughly cleanse the vessel of its impurity. It is now that we are to be made holy unto God. This is our work, this very moment. You are not to wait for any special period for a wonderful work to be done; it is today. I give myself to God today. . . . {UL 283.5}

Are you ready to make the surrender now? You are to put away your sin right now when you see it. . . . Do not make leeway [that] you are going to overcome by degrees; you are going to try little by little to give up sin. Now, while it is called today, heed the invitation and harden not your hearts. {UL 283.6}

Oh, my soul, why not leave the cursed thing today? Sin crucified my Lord. Why not turn from it with loathing? Why not love the things that Christ loved, and hate the things that Christ hated? What Message SDA Friends Are You Sounding? Peace and Safety?

I have noticed that long posts such as yours, are seldome read here. You are correct in your post, that very few pastors preach on the soon coming of Jesus. IF the SDA church is the KOH right now as found in Matthew 25:1-13, then it was foretold that they would be sleeping at the time Jesus comes like a thief. Only a "few" (see Rev. 3:4-5) are found not sleeping and those are the ones (144k) who wake up the sleeping servants for the bride and at that time a split takes place--which is called the great shaking.

Have you ever asked yourself the question as to why those found in Laodicea think they can see and are clothed and in need of nothing--but in truth are blind and naked and poor?

Yes. The key word is "used" to. Praise God that many of us are not concerned. Some like myself live by a different belief. That belief is that we must live as this is our last day.

I am not concerned about the hour or the day - simply because I believe that we must be ready NOW. And I am ready. I've made things right with my God. I am saved. For I trust that He has saved me. As the Word says.

So, while I am anxious to go Home. I trust Jesus that I have work to be done here till that hour comes.

So you are right. Many of us simply do not concern ourselves as to when He might come. That is not our overwhelming focus. We simply go about doing the work that He would have us to do. ANd that would be preaching the Love of God. You might consider the signs of importance. I prefer to get to know the giver of the signs.

And responding to this post is by no means an indication that I've read your post. As I usually do with your long drawn out posts - I might read the first couple of sentences. For sure I skip all the out of context quotes.

There are some that read a post such as I made that want to see and know and see that some truth is being put forth.

Yes I realize as soon as some see it doesn't match their belief system it is dumped so to speak.

I read all posts that have some "meat and potatoes" in them, that is some real worth.
