Woody Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I suppose that with Valentines Day done and gone - I may have missed my opportunity - but my question IS: How does one woo a woman? Any suggestions for me? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Liz Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Be yourself and allow her the same courtesy. Actions speak louder than words. Simple kind gestures from the heart mean more than extravagant empty gestures. I'm sure others have some great ideas too. :) Quote For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Mat. 16:26Please, support the JDRF and help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. Please, support the March of Dimes.
Moderators Bravus Posted February 17, 2012 Moderators Posted February 17, 2012 The 'Five Love Languages' stuff is a bit too simple, but it's a great reminder that 'do what you would want done to you' is not always enough. Listening is the key: find out what she wants done (said, given, etc) to her. 'Be yourself' is excellent advice but not always easy... Quote Truth is important
Moderators LynnDel Posted February 17, 2012 Moderators Posted February 17, 2012 Be sincerely interested in her. Some men, when they see the object of their intended affection, start off with a hard sell of their product, themselves. It can be an uphill battle if they don't also show interest in her and in what she says. If he does that - Wow! Battle half won. Quote LD
ClubV12 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I'm sincerely interested in many people in the Church, the guys and gals. I love to pay them compliments when due. Love your hair today. That sweater looks terrific on you. I had such a good time at Sabbath dinner over at your place, when is the group doing that again? I told one (single) lady I glorified God because of her witness to me. I just wanted to share that blessing with her. My heart is just SO filled with love these days, sometimes my eyes even start leaking for no reason in Church. I can just FEEL the love in that place and I love to share it. I've come to realize you have to be a bit careful with the single ladies, they take these kind of compliments pretty seriously. Sometimes they misunderstand my intentions. If your into wooing, this works really well. If you want to stay single (that would be me) you might want to tone it down a bit.... Quote
Woody Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 Wooing Women has never been one of Woody's winning ways. Like was suggested above - I'll just be Woody and see what that wins. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

I had to smile when I read your post. Having spent most of my adult life as a SWF (I think that's how we are referred to) I could have written it only from a female point of view. So it seems, males and females are not so different. Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
ClubV12 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Ah, good point Naomi, I can see where that would work both ways. By the way, I love what you've done with your hair, you look fabulous! Quote

Neil D Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 I do have a question, this thread began as wooing and turned to dogs Are there any pointers for "Long Distance" Wooing? How about the "Once you got'er, now what do you do" wooing? [aka "Married wooing"] also see "Keeping the woo-ing alive in the marriage" or "How to woo on a short budget"? Maybe some pointers on "How to get woo-ed, and stay woo-ed"? or variations on woo-ing style like "redneck woo-ing" or "hippy style woo-ing" or "modern woo-ing"?
