He has shown a distain for thousands of American jobs in favor of his environmental friends agenda. And he is driving up the cost of gas for his friends. And his big oil friends are benefitting. In 19 states, Obama collected more than his four major GOP rivals combined. Obama's biggest support comes from California, where he collected $13.6 million from individuals last year, as Hollywood stars and Silicon Valley's high-tech executives helped fill his campaign coffers. That's more than twice the amount raised from the state's donors by former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, who sits atop the GOP field in fundraising. According to a USA Today report, Obama is out raising everyone, combined....Ya can't do that unless you are making some people happy....in fact, you can't do that "trashing the constitution" unless you are making MANY people happy....And most americans don't want the trashing of the constitution...unless you're republican and rewriting history... Something about a war started the drop. It isn't as high yet as he has stated he wants it to be.Give him the credit whether he deserves it or not. He has said he wants it at European prices.Give him a little more time and you can really give him the credit,not blame he deserves. The dollar has fallen 1.6% against a basket of six world currencies this year. It is down 1.4% against the euro. It is down 1.6% to the British pound. The price of crude oil (which is sold in US dollars) is up 11% for this year. So the dollar has fallen 1.6% and oil has gone up 11%. This site shows that in 2008, when republicans were shouting the mantra "drill, baby, drill",total production of oil was at 8514 thousand barrels/day. In 2009, the US was at 9140 thousand barrels/day. Our consumption of oil has gone down, from 19.4 to 18.7 K barrels/day. .... and yet the price of oil goes up.... So much for that mantra "drill baby, drill".....This shows that the american public, and especially those pesky rich republicans don't understand the nuances of oil pricing... Dr. Shane Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 I don't think drilling will make us energy independant. However it will boost our economy. The more we produce, the more of our money stays home. Production is up becuz the $ is up so oil companies pump more and look for more where they can.
