Who Art Thou? He Was asked

Of a certainty all Christians should believe Yahshua/Jesus is THE only WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE. But not all as when He was here as one of us many did not know who He was. He was asked “Who Art Thou”. This time we will look at the scriptures that reveal Who He is and the Father and the Holy Spirit.

I don't think it is hard to clear up this issue. The Father, 1, the Son, 2, Holy Spirit, 3, are one in Truth. The Son was brought out of Himself, the Father before anything and the Father sent Him the Son to do all the creation, all of the hosts and everything. His name though was LORD, YHWH, of Hosts before Bethlehem. First lets read. -

Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. (Then --)

Isa 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. (notice LORD of hosts above which is also YHWH)(notice also “beside me there is no God”. They are one and will be brought out in later verses.)

Isa 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

All the Gods there are is brought out in Isa 44:6 above and notice "I am the first, and I am the last" in the following verse. -

Re 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. - - now I ask how many firsts can you have? Just one, it means before any other, and you know that is Jesus speaking.

OK now let's see who the Holy Spirit is. - - Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Since we now know the Father and the Son are God and the above verse Jesus tells us what He is plus the Father.

People all get it wrong with our Lord's statement here - - Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one. Truly yes Truly one substance.

Now another verse - - 2Co 5:19 To wit, that God ( the Father ) was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Christ then is the Father dwelling in Christ, extended to be our redeemer and one of us. Read,

Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

Then the Lord's statement to Philip - - Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

You should see that Jesus the son has revealed who He and the Father are

Mt 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

To sum it up He has told us He and the Father ARE ONE and that they are Spirit, The Holy Spirit. He came to us in the form of His Son and now abides in us by Spirit. He is not limited that He can not be what He needs to be for the salvation of man and that plan was laid before anything. And so hence, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and so 1 John is correct, -

- 1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

When He Jesus has finished all He is brought fourth out of the Father to do, as He says, I was sent, - - Joh 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

Then when it is finished. - -

1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. ( Yet reigning )

1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

1Co 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. ( Only the Father is excepted )

1Co 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

The Son then becomes subject to the Father and so now the Father is as He was before bringing forth an equal from Himself to take care of the rebellion He knew would happen.

Also now the Son is just that, His Son the Prince and also at the same time one of us. He no longer is the ruling Deity He had been to accomplish the Redemption plan.

The Father gave of Himself and dwelt in the Body prepared Him and so knows us as He was one of us, for remember the Father was in Christ. 2 Cor 5:19 above. The Body prepared verse is, - - Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

A body was prepared that He would have blood to shed as the blood of animals etc. could not suffice.

Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

Notice this verse very carefully,

Ac 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

We sing “How Great Thou Art” in much awe realizing this.

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Gibs, are you forgeting that Michael, the "Angel of the Lord" (See Ex. 3) who was the "I AM" was the God of Israel, the God that wrote the covenant with His finger, and the "Prince of the Hebrews" found in Daniel--became known as Jesus Christ when He, as a zygot was placed into Mary so He could be form of flesh like a human.

He testified that He was NOT the Father, nor was Jesus the Holy Spirit. But they were ONE in unity as ONE Family called "God". Rev. 12:17 proves that those who keep all of the ten commandments and abide in the words of Jesus as given to us by His eyewitnesses, also become ONE with God as they too are in the Family of God, them being born of the same Holy Spirit "Mother God" as was Jesus.

When Jesus testified that He did NOT know when He was going to come back, but only the Father knew, this is proof solid that Jesus is NOT the same as His Father (see Rev. 1:1)

Also notice the difference in the 'name' of the one who did the creating in Gen 1 verses the 'name' of the one who did the creatiing in Gen. 2 after verse 4. Why the difference?

Dr. Rich and others, I hope this explains it more clearly,

Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one.

The next verse Jesus states He is the first,

Re 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

There can only be ONE first, reasoning it out they have to be one as He stated.

2Co 5:19 To wit, that God ( The Father ) was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Since God is Spirit this is not Impossible with Him as nothing is.

Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Da 12:1 ¶ And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Miyka'el me-kaw-ale'

from 4310 and (the prefix derivative from) 3588 and 410; who (is) like God?; Mikael, the name of an archangel and of nine Israelites:--Michael.

The only one like God the Father is Jesus Christ, He also was known in olden times by LORD of Hosts,

Isa 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Isa 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

You forgot that Jesus testified that His words were NOT His, but the words the Father wanted Him to testify to, so sure, when Jesus said those things-Alpha-Omega, those were the words of the Father, not the Son (Jn. 12:44-50 and 14:10) Therefore, while it would appear that what Jesus was saying was His own words, they were NOT even though Jesus did speak His own words.

Jesus was killed by His Father because only a God could call a God. After all, Adam was to have been killed by God and Jesus took Adam's place for the penalty--not the consequence.

Dr. Rich, Jesus was the body of the man prepared that He the Father would dwell in.

Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

Then,

2Co 5:19 To wit, that God ( The Father ) was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Joh 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

Joh 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Joh 10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Where in the Bible and the Bible only does it say that Michael is God/Jesus Christ.

Please give Book, Chapter, and verse.

No innuendos, no inferences, no indirect references, etc. etc.

Just a simple direct statement from the Bible please.

Miz3, There is only one PRINCE, and he is known by more than one name to us, if you can't figure it out it is something for you to find, for me I'm posittive,

Da 12:1 ¶ And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

We are His children and He came to us as Jesus the Christ or Messiah, and there is two other names for you.

We are his children, he bought each and every one who will be one of His children, His lambs, His jewels.

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Truth is like that, it can't always be delivered on a silver plater with book, chapter, verse. Like BURIED treasure, it isn't laying on TOP of the ground, you have search, dig, compare one verse to another, see the big picture, the context. What some might call innuendo, inferences, indirect reference is in fact the treasure itself! :)

Is the conversation about Who Jesus/God is, effective for leading others to Christ unless it has this foundation laid by the Holy Spirit as voiced by the apostle Peter?

"He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven."Matt 16:15-17 KJV

" Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God." John 6:68,69 KJV

As to the quote below:

Quote:
Jesus was killed by His Father

If that were true, then this scripture could not be true.

"For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act."Isaiah 28:21 KJV

Satan is the destroyer, plain and simple. Satan is the tool, allowed to have access to those who shun the rightful command of God and God accepts the responsibility, even as He accepts all the sin of this world.

"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV

To see the Father as the destroyer, is to deny this foundation of His character.

"For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life."John 3:16 AMP brackets, parenthesis their's LHC

When Jesus was on the cross and experienced the trauma of knowing, feeling, physically, mentally understanding the withdrawal of the Father away from Him....

...asking, "...why have You forsaken me?" I think that was the first and last time ever in eternity that the Father and Jesus were liteally separated.

This quote of EGW's covers what LifeHiscost brings up. This is an important and informative read, please read carefully,

"(Matthew 28:5, 6; Luke 24:5, 6; 2:19; John 10:17, 18; Acts 13:32, 33.) When the voice of the angel was heard saying, "Thy Father calls thee," He who had said, "I lay down my life, that I might take it again," "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up," came forth from the grave to life that was in Himself. Deity did not die. Humanity died, but Christ now proclaims over the rent sepulcher of Joseph, "I am the resurrection, and the life." In His divinity Christ possessed the power to break the bonds of death. He declares that He had life in Himself to quicken whom He will. {5BC 1113.4}

"I am the resurrection, and the life." This language can be used only by the Deity. All created things live by the will and power of God. They are dependent recipients of the life of the Son of God. However able and talented, however large their capabilities, they are replenished with life from the Source of all life. Only He who alone hath immortality, dwelling in light and life, could say, "I have power to lay down my life, and I have power to take it again." All the human beings in our world take their life from Him. He is the spring, the fountain of life (MS 131, 1897). {5BC 1113.5}

"I am the resurrection, and the life." He who had said, "I lay down my life, that I might take it again," came forth from the grave to life that was in Himself. Humanity died: divinity did not die. In His divinity, Christ possessed the power to break the bonds of death. He declares that He has life in Himself to quicken whom He will. {5BC 1113.6}

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

...asking, "...why have You forsaken me?" I think that was the first and last time ever in eternity that the Father and Jesus were liteally separated.

The fact that Jesus died the death that I should have died, as my substitute, not knowing at the time He was on the cross that He would rise again (for after all, it was my second death He experienced) puts all my wonderings or doubts to rest about the depth of His love for me or whether He is going to welcome me home when He arrives the second time.

He was willing to trade places with me, my oblivion for His eternal life. Wondrous thought, too deep to understand fully, even through the ceaseless ages of eternity.

And this is true for all who are willing to accept the fact that there is nothing they can do that makes their entrance into the kingdom any less than a gift, not a gift plus some work we might do, no matter how simple that deed might be.

"For God so loved the world that He gave...", not "for God so loved the World that He paid...."

O' wondrous Truth so sublime. We do His commands out of love for Him and what He has accomplished for us, not so He will let us into His Kingdom.
