ClubV12 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 I got a call today from the Church secretary. There is a family who needs a ride to church. No problem I thought... There are SIX in the family, uh oh, big problem I thought. Wait, it gets worse, two are children and have car seats. Won't fit in any car I've got! WHY do they need a ride? Their car is broken down and they haven't got any money. Oh, well maybe it isn't so bad after all. I recommended I should go and have a look at the car. Turns out it was a bad starter, quick trip to NAPA, new starter in hand, returned with tool box, problem solved. Whew, that was close. I had visions of one kid in the glove box and was considering my options regarding the roof rack.... :) Quote

Having a kid in the glove box probably wouldn't have produced a favorable outcome. :) Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
Moderators Kevin H Posted February 24, 2012 Moderators Posted February 24, 2012 Wait, I'm confused... you mention the roof rack as if it was not routinely used for kids... I think I'm using my car wrong... Anyway, I applaude you ClubV12. I was raised about 40 miles from the nearist church so did not make it to church much unless we had family visiting, or was in New York City visiting friends and family or California visiting relatives. Then when I was in the 8th or 9th grade a young man from our church who lived about half way between the church and us started taking us to church. His ministry was a blessing to us, and he has continued that ministry now driving the church van to take young people to church. I'm glad that there are others with this heart!!! God bless you ClubV12! Quote
ClubV12 Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 The needs are so great in my area of Oregon. Good people, lost jobs, homes, barely making it. I cannot possibly hope to address even a fraction of it all. We, as a body of believers, need to pull together like never before. While I fixed the ladies Van, her parting comment was she hoped she had enough gas to make it to church.... Quote
Administrators Gail Posted February 24, 2012 Administrators Posted February 24, 2012 Praise God for this! Bless your heart, Club and I wish for your blessing to both be paid forward and back to you :) Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

I think I'm using my car wrong... Hahaha Remember the National Lampoon's vacation where they put Grandma up there? But as long as they are belted in according to the laws of the land, what problem would there be? LOL Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

But I think the glove box can get a bit cramped and the roof rack gets a bit breezing. ClubV12 Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 I was chuckling to myself over the roof rack comment. A roof rack for rug rats, what could possibly go wrong? :) Quote
