My husband is putting on a volleyball tournament this weekend at our local academy.

There have been politics all along with the planning- it's been quite the story. But now it's here!

So far-

One team is still not arrived due to a road closure because of inclement weather.

Last night one boy was horsing around and fell and broke his ankle. That was a trip to Emergency.

Today the power is off. That tripped the alarm. There is a generator to provide basic water for the toilets.

Fortunately there is heat in the gym but no wants to open the doors for light because it's so cold outside. So the chaplain is holding church for 250 people by the light of cellphones.

Pairs of hormone-raged teens have gone missing. Some other students took off and did not show up for worship this morning. Consequently they will forfeit their first game.

Staff was going to take the food to the local church to warm up, but their kitchen is already being used. The food was taken to a nearby church member's house.

I started to chuckle as Rusty ran down the news, but he said, "You think this is funny?" Oops. We instead had prayer on the phone.

I told him that in any case, a memory is being made here. :) He might have to cancel the tournament. We'll see how this all plays out. I just hope that no more students are injured!

Wow. This is one for the ages. He should write a book.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

We seem to have the same crazy sense of humor. I had to chuckle as I read it! Which is what I tend to do when things go crazy. However, that is not always the response others involved can appreciate.

At least the kids (& Rusty) will not forget this day.

Glad you had prayer.

Whew,,, well that IS serious.

...but I still had to chuckle. Of course thats pretty easy to do when your sitting in a warm house with plenty of light and everything is nice and comfortable. As opposed to searching for "pairs of missing hormone raged kids" in the snow, in the woods, with a flashlight.... and your cold, tired, hungry and got no hot food to come back to. Now THATS funny, from here anyway. :)

Well, I'm glad I have you guys to lean on when times get really bad!! LOL

But all's well that ends well. The lights came on 5 minutes before the Talent program and tonight there were some games. Tomorrow they will play almost all day.

I think poor ol' Russ will be ready for retirement after this!
