M. T. Cross Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Is that not what Christians seek to achieve? Not just at the end of their time here on earth but in their day to day life.... including internet forums? This really is a serious question. Quote
Members phkrause Posted March 2, 2012 Members Posted March 2, 2012 Yes EC, absolutely. This is what we should strive to be, like Jesus. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Administrators Naomi Posted March 2, 2012 Administrators Posted March 2, 2012 Absolutely; in the home behind closed doors, in the office, driving our cars ... everwhere in every way. Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
Administrators Naomi Posted March 2, 2012 Administrators Posted March 2, 2012 :) I'm slow. Okay second question. Simple but ever so difficult ... Do unto others as you would have them do onto you. Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God

Gibs Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Sometimes Jesus Christ spoke pretty strong to those who were not "brothers" but I am of the belief we are all brothers and sisters here and even when we don't agree we don't condemn one another and make sharp retorts back, but I don' see much of that. If one responds in a civil manner even in strong disagreeance normally you don't get a heated remark. What I've notice is that sometimes we can bring that back in how we respond in disagreeance. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Members phkrause Posted March 2, 2012 Members Posted March 2, 2012 Cool My next question would be - How do you personally define Christlike behaviour. I'd say Naomi said it well, "Do unto others as you would have them do onto you." Many of the government programs that we have would not be needed if more people followed Jesus' example. Woody Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I don't know pk - but I do know she indicated that the purpose of the Sabbath School was for Ingathering. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology. Â
ClubV12 Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Ingathering? I don't know why the Adventist.org society does that.... Quote

Dr. Rich Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Well now, I would be more like Christ I suppose, but right now I am afraid people here would not like it and attempt to kill me as they did to Him. AFter all, wasn't it someting Jesus said and did that got Him into trouble? Lets not be a bunch of fools here, Jesus clearly said that the world will hate those who abide in the words of Jesus and do what Jesus said to do in Matt. 28:20. He also said that He did NOT come here to bring peace, but families will be torn up, father against son and things like that. Most christians believe being like Jesus means to be 'loving' and being nice to everyone, but that is what Satan wants you to believe just as He did to Eve. Clearly, you have NOT read the words of Jesus close enough to see the truth. Please do a count on how many time the religious leaders wanted to kill Him. why? I will tell you why, because you will not feel good when confronted with the truth after you have been believing lies for all of your life. I know, I have been there and done that. Quote

I can give Biblical proof for what I am about to say. God is indeed the perfection of what being "lovable" is. However God is also the perfection of what being "hateful"/"angry" is as well. You are indeed correct that Jesus Christ irritated the Jews to the max so they wanted to kill Him. It is also true that the "Truth" He spoke was welcome "Good News" to many others. Jesus Christ said He was the Truth (Jesus Christ = Truth) and the Truth cuts both ways. Quote
Dr. Rich Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 May God truely bless you Miz3. I have seen the arrows whiz by aimed at you and you have been true to your understanding. Thanks for hanging in there. Quote
