But why have that be the subject of "every thread"?<< Umm, “every thread” is a bit exaggerated, yes?—however, as brilliantly as St Paul wrote, he occasionally confused his own material by an inappropriate choice of words... There is some legitimacy re St Paul and pertinent questions obtaining... This post diverges by only 7 degrees rather than it might 180 degrees... One suspects that the argument is being forwarded that it is sufficient to umm, tell the little woman that you love her at the end of the week; rather than telling her at every given opportunity during the week. Or in the case of a poster, he or she may be posting a ‘luv-ya-babe’ interjection whenever he or she considers that a segue provides entrée. Few complain where and when the imprimateur of the Majesterium is appealed-to in a thread – as opportunity provides. Why the one-sided complaint? Laissez-faire, guys and dolls. Let the wind list where it will... Sometimes, the cumulative effect of the occasional is rather to be strived for – rather than an occasional thread that will be lost to view in a week. So, the tangent veers by a matter of small degree. No biggie. Should a post seem a hijack – perhaps, it is because the main topic is mildewing and/or getting stale. A bit of fresh air is always appreciated. Anyway, it is not like opines in a thread are as those of a visiting lecturer and considered sacrosanct. It’s ‘let’s get cozy’ mi familia – yes? Anybody brung pretzels?--beer? [/kidding] The one(s) usually interjecting snippily are hardly ever the originator of the thread. Those taking umbrage seem to be acting the part of policing the submissions of others. So, why attempt to marginalize another for pro forma reasons. Totally unnecessary, as often times the slight tangents gild the thread. Too much the inclinations of the cliquey-claquey, imho. “Everybody wants to get into the act.” –The Schnozz "Chicken wings for cur dogs." -jhames joys ;-) Quote
jasd Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 >>Say what??<< Exactly. Say what..., ever. What's with all the can'ts and cannots? Whose posting is so uniformly and consistently offensive? And who is offended by my posting what is not readily understood? Too many are too easily piqued 'bout this and that. Let it go, for crimey - unless a tit requires a tat - or a like requires a likewise. Quote
