I was wondering what all of you thought about if a person has to be kneeling everytime they pray? Lately I have been praying even when I am driving somewhere. I am disabled and because of that I have trouble in that when I get down on my knees I need something to hold onto to get back up, so I tend to not kneel, even at church.

OzarkWoman,

I don't see any problem with you praying as I believe the time is coming we'll be in continual prayer. No we cannot be on our knees all times we pray. But we are to humble ourselves before him when we can. I am 80+ and so I know of the help to get hold of something to get up.

When God Himself sent His people out to battle I rather think each one was prahying continually. Then we have a saying today, "there is no Atheists in a foxhole" when the bullet start flying and the tanks come roaring over you.

If it is a bad thing, then I confess I am guilty.

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

There is only one thing that is required when we pray and that is faith.

The position we find ourselves in, whether we open our mouths or not or any other ritual that many feel is needful in order for God to answer our prayers are all meaningless.

We must believe in God, believe that he loves and takes care of us even with all our many, many, many, many, many sins.

Quote:
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Heb. 11:6

No kneeling required Ozarkwoman. I pray while walking, sitting, etc. Its between you and God. He knows and sees what, why, etc. So if you can't kneel your probably not alone. I know a few others, my Mom being one of them. She had knee replacement surgery back in '04 and since than has not been able to kneel.

Not so.

ESV 2 Chr 7:14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

The Bible presents praying people in different positions.

Daniel prayed on his knees 3x/d. Solomon knelt in prayer during the dedication of the Temple. Eliezer was standing by the well when he prayed silently. Isaac was probably walking while he was meditating in the field at the arrival of Rebekah. David was probably lying in bed when he was meditating and talking to God at night.
