I did not listen when my sister said hold on while doubling on a horse and broke my arm in 3 places I tried a roundhouse swing while shadow boxing as a little kid and broke my nose I got really cocky in a fight in highschool and broke my nose and cracked my skull I rode a bike with no brakes down a hill and broke 2 ribs I tried a Steve Vai guitar swing around the neck and broke my nose Played tackle football with no helmet and broke my nose a few different times. I thought a 2 year old with a coffee cup was harmless and broke my nose Tried to carry a load of firewood down a set of icy stairs and broke my wrist Sparred with a guy a great deal bigger than me and broke a rib Did the responsible thing and chose to punch a wall instead of a person. But the wall had an old chimney behind it. Broke 5 bones in my hand. Got mad at something at a construction job and swung a hammer at it. I missed and broke my thumb Decided to help a guy push a trailor full of mud. But we were standing on ice and I was wearing dress shoes. I cracked my kneecap in half. Decided to jumb out a bay door at a loading dock instead of going to the real door and broke my ankle Miss judged a line drive in a baseball game and broke one side of my collar bone. A week later I thought I was good enough to help a buddy unload a dryer from his truck. I lost hold and it landed on the other side of my collar bone and broke it as well. There are other broken nose stories but they were all just bad luck. When I broke my hand the doctor and I counted 3 other healed breaks in my hand that I am not sure when or how they might of happened. They were probably stupid as well. Quote

M. T. Cross Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 It is a shorter list..... If you count my nose as just one break then I have broken 18 bones that I know of. Add onto that 6 concussions and some fairly severe soft tissue damage I amaze myself by getting out of bed some days. I think the most stupid of all things is that out of all those breaks I have never missed a day of work because of them. I regret that now, things just don't heal right that way. Quote

Okay, now that the stupid confessional is in full swing: Not missing a day of work is why for 20+ years my neck has hurt. Or, after having a major stroke, some 10 hours later, driving myself to ER. Administrators Gail Posted March 18, 2012 Administrators Posted March 18, 2012 I once had an allergic reaction to a medication and drove myself from work to Emergency. And not quite having made the decision I hummed and hawed my way over there. Once I got there they gave me the injection I needed and I've never taken that medication again. I should have gotten someone else to drive, and I should have gone straight there. I could have died on the way. Talking about this type of stuff- I had an uncle who had a heart attack and drove and walked himself into the hospital instead of calling for an ambulance. Needless to say he died once he got there.
