Dear brethren,

So many yearn for recognition, attainment, praise and acknowledgement of the world and perhaps, even can not imagine life without these things... Below is something from the history of the entire human race before the flood that may be rather intriguing...

Gen 4:17-22 [KJV] And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech. And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.

Genealogy of two distinctive antediluvian groups upon the sons of God and the daughters (children) of men. Gen 6:2 [KJV]

The children of men (as opposed to the sons of God)of 6 (six) generations after Cain (as the world's first recorded murderer) and his fifth generation or great-great-great grandson Lamech (as the world's second recorded murderer) that results in triplet Nobel prize 'equivalent' achievers of Jabal, Jubal & Tubalcain. Gen 4:21-22 [KJV]

Meanwhile the 9 (nine) generations of the sons of God (after Adam) of Seth, Enos, Cainan, Mahaleel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech and Noah bared zip, zero or null records of any world-worthy accomplishment. Gen 5:1-30 [KJV]

6 (six) generations with world box office breakers versus 9 (nine) lengthier generations of terribly world-embarrassing barren achievement records.

Is this simple coincidence or are these differing landmark features of the two entirely different groups that is relevant to this day?

Test me with thy might but grant me safe passage. Now, who said that?

Hmmm? And isn't it sad that none of those 'Nobel prize' winners ever learned how to build a large boat?

Can you imagine the laughs Noah got......such a large boat with nobody to fill it.......such simple and box like design........no ballast, no rudder IF water ever rose from the earth.......ect. ect. Makes one think of a certain group that proclaims Jesus is coming soon and the world as we know it is going to end.

Raphael.......Thanks for posting this. This is a good post. I think it has much relevance especially here in the States with the controversy surrounding womans ordination.

Colour me slow Monty, but where is the connection between this and womens ordination?

The desire for position, recognition, notoriety, esteem, honor, pre-eminence, exaltation. Take your pick.

The same should then be said of the men whom aspire ordination.

I would certainly agree with that. A indication of where there motivation is coming from could be how loudly they clamor for it!

I would support not having ordination for either gender. I think all should be commissioned.

Is the "correct" word on a card kept in a back pocket or purse really as important an issue as it sounds? Aren't there deeper issues in ministry that really transend this? Just wondering!!

I don't think all woem who want to be pastors have the qualities you mentioned. I believe yours is nothing but a macho post and bears no real truth.

Would you mind explaining the difference please?

One recognizes ALL who have been called by God. The other doesn't.
