What happens is that ANY other race is at fault when facing an issue with a black person. The non-black simply never stands a chance to get justice. That is my concern and frustration. Maybe the victims of black on black crime which is also higher than white on black crime are not as important.The needless loss of life is a tragedy,no matter what skin color. It is hard to take the angst of those that have selective grief and anger seriously or center on one victim and use it as a catalyst for all the ills ,injuries,etc that occur. It does appear ,whether politically or normal everyday life,those of the African-American community that do not subscribe to "It is all about race" are discarded.Only those that are determined to make everything about race and hate when they are on the receiving end of white injustice matter. I'm sorry for the loss of anyone and hate to see arguments happen--especially when they escalate to violence. May God's will be done in the proceedings. Quote

We need to reach back to 1955? to validate the assumption and the conviction in the minds of many that Martin was killed for racial reasons. But it is highly doubtful the guilty spouse being hit over the head at every opportunity and reminded every chance that comes up "I remember" is going to keep on keeping on trying to atone for past sins. You can forgive and not be able to trust and the marriage ends. True forgiveness is not "I forgive but I am going to remind you at every opportunity what you did" The guilty spouse may decide to accept that and I am sure some do spend their lives atoning for their mistake and accepting whatever the "wronged spouse" hurls at them whenever they can. That is not true forgiveness. I don't recall if you have children but I have four. Good boys but far from perfect. Did some acts that truly surprised and at times saddened me. Should I have forgiven them and then continued to remind them over the years,"I remember what you did,you are suspect/guilty now. I will no longer support excuses for bad behavior. I will no longer give special treatment to those who at some point were mistreated. What I WILL do is expect those whose family were oppressed at some point - to stand up for Truth. Don't oppress others just because your family was oppressed. Of all the people who should be opposed to oppression - MAN !!! Stand up for TRUTH. Stop throwing out the race card unless it applies and you know it for sure. Following the Civil war when slaves thought they would be free as in "free" only to find their situation only marginally better by a very small degree you find a altogether different group of people. By all reason at that time there would have been more than a little justification for a lawless, out of control,vicious,you owe me people. You don't find that.In fact what you do find is along with extreme poverty is proud intact families,honest,hardworking individuals as a whole. Not until the early sixties do you see the deterioration of the black family. White families as well, but you are referring to the black community. Poverty and racism is blamed for all their failures and ills. At a time when all whites should have feared coming in contact with black individuals without protection that is not the case. My 'boss' in the Army was black but I never even thought about a race problem issue because he was one who never brought up the race issue either. What is your first hand experience with real hardcore poverty? Not the kind that means you can't have the designer cloths your friends are wearing but the one that says great care and thought has to be exercised to go to a garage sale,or making do when the lights are turned off.Spreading out the food in the cupboard to try to make sure three small meals a day can be eked out.Many times not making it.
