Your view of Jesus

I would like to know peoples personal view of Jesus. What you find special about him, what moves you to accept his teachings. Your personal view.

And please no trashing someone elses view.

If I'm not mistaken EC, I think this needs to be reposted in the religion thread! Great question though.

I wondered that too PK. But so many people avoid that part of the forum....

And its not really about religion. Many people that are not part of a particular religion respect and sometimes love Jesus. Others, like myself, that are unsure of his nature as a deity have a huge huge respect for him.

But by all means if it needs to be moved it won't hurt my feelings.

I hear you, but as you know, it will eventually get to that point. :) The mods will have to move it, but I guess we'll see.

Wow, out of 50+ views on a Christian board not one person can testify to their view of their deity? Thats almost heartbreaking. I guess the racial, homophobic and chauvanistic topics bear closer to home than Jesus does?

Testify? I just now saw this post so I was not one of the 50. Sure, I can testify and have done so many times. But my testimony is from 22 years of intensive research, not only from bibles, but from many other places.

Jesus Christ is the name we who speak English call the One who, as Michael, the "Angel of the Lord" (re: Ex.3) was born of this earth as a human by being placed into Mary's womb as a zygot (Mary's DNA was not associated with Jesus at all) in order to testify to humans on who the Creator God the Father was and is and to confirm or verify what was written in the Law and the Prophets as found in our present day Bible. This testimony was called the gospel of (about) the Kingdom of Heaven, not the same as the gospel of Jesus by the author of Romans.

Clearly to me, this 'job' was to have been Adam's as the world at that time was totally evil because Satan had humans believing that he was their god and that the angels of Satan were gods for the many nations of the world.

Adam failed the test and therefore the job was taken over by Michael, as the Son of God who also became the son of man--a very unique (one of a kind) 'person' and the ONLY one that could have done this serious job in order to purchase citizens for His Kingdom by redeeming them from the penalty of Adam. If Adam had paid that penalty then those who have been purchased would never have lived.

Therefore, those very words that Jesus spoke had to have been written down correctly so that those who accept and obey them can become the citizens for the Kingdom of Heaven which will later become the Kingdom of God.

Trouble is, Satan interjected his take on things to deceive the majority (almost everyone) so that he could keep on 'living' since he knew/knows that when there is a 'host' for the KOH, that his time will soon be over for good. Satan did this by using people who he tricked into believeing he was Jesus and presenting visions to them that to most seemed to be the truth, but clearly did not agree with what Jesus said and taught.

And this is the real reason why so many folks are so mixed up and confused as to who Jesus is and why He testified to the truth. Many believe the only reason He came here was to die for the sins of the world, but that is a false and mistaken belief.

Bob that is your personal view? That is your experience?

Without him there is no hope of any kind after we die. For me I don't need to do any research, he's with me everyday, even when I don't acknowledge him, I experience him where ever I go, am, etc. He loved us enough to die for us even if we don't except his sacrifice. He's the greatest individual that ever lived, bar none. Has made the biggest impact and changed more lives than anyone. Oh and also the most talked about person.

It was when I began seeing him with fresh eyes, removing the filters of my childhood, the filters of my church, that I began to understand. How does God make himself understood to man? And how does God make himself understand man? By becoming a man. That is an amazing metamorphosis! That links God forever to mankind like nothing else could.

What moves me to accept his teachings? What he said about and demonstrated about forgiveness. Forgiveness is a complete game changer! Nothing has the potential to change the world like forgiveness. That is what draws me to him and what makes me unable to to let go of him.

"Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

*Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth.

(And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

Great post Tom, and I would have to agree with it all.
