86-year-old gymnast wows crowds at World Cup in Germany

Creaky joints or a bad back clearly haven't affected 86-year-old senior citizen Johanna Quaas after she recently wowed crowds at a World Cup gymnastics tournament in Germany.

While most pensioners tend to become less active when they retire, the restrictions of growing old haven't yet caught up with this white-haired wonder.

Participating in a sport that requires extreme flexibility and supreme agility, Quaas displayed age-defying qualities throughout a series of difficult routines

Encouraged by cheering crowds, the flexible OAP delivered a flawless performance at last month's tournament in Cottbus, Brandenburg.

Ms Quaas ran through a series of cartwheels, head-spins and rotations during her show-stopping routine.

She was also spotted balancing upside down and holding up her own body weight mid-air with relative ease.

Quaas has already won 11 gymnastic medals at the German senior citizen championships but says she practises the sport 'just for fun.'

The video of her performance has racked up nearly 1.5million views on YouTube in less than a week.

Did anyone else know that this even existed? I had no idea that there was such a thing as a senior citizen gymnastic competition.
