Guest Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Anybody who believes that Robert Reich has written something worth reading, is on a different page than me, and also than most Americans. I know the mind set, and have very little time for engaging it. Liberals, (progressives ) like you to think they are in the majority, and they go to great lengths to create that illusion. But that's all it is, an illusion, and not the truth. They pull it off to a large degree, but only because they control/own the media, where they try to form opinion, rather than participate in true journalism. If you don't beleive me just look at the Zimmerman fiasco. True journalism is dead in america. And people who don't understand that, or know what it's become, are easily swayed, because they trust it. They believe they are dealing with honest people, instead of an agenda. But nothing could be further from the truth. Many of us will be voicing our opinion at the voting booth in November. And even though the obummer election fraud machine is in place and idling already, I think we will see who the majority is. Quote

Dr. Shane Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 How is it that Romney pays less than 15% taxes when that is the capital gains rate? Anyone know? I'll tell. He gives money to charity and so he doesn't have to pay taxes on what he gives to charity. So does that make him a bad guy? If he didn't give so much to charity he would pay more taxes. Would that make his opponents happy? The capital gains tax has to be lower than the income tax so that it encourages investment which is what drives the economy which creates more jobs. Perhaps 15% is a bit low but saying folks like Romney should pay income tax rates on their capital gains is silly. If the law were changed make the income tax rates and the capital gains rates the same it would have a huge negative impact on the economy. And... if there is a time to raise the capital gains tax it is not during a recession or weak recovery. So Romney is a rich guy. So was George Washington. If John Kerry would have won he would have been one of the richest Presidents every. There is nothing wrong with electing a successful person. Do we want a McDonald's line cook for President?
