BobRyan Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 RIP -- Just like the deal with Saddam Husein trying to rebuild Babylon -- it was "the sign" that his reign was swiftly coming to an end - because the Bible predicted it would not happen. This was not a hard one to see coming. Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." COL 316.

BobRyan Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 According to Rev 13 it does not. I suspect that it only makes us a more dominant player in world politics. A leader who stands above the rest at some distance rather than among a cluster of peers is more what you read in Rev 13. A divided Europe will always need a large gravitational mass like the US -- but a peer entity, composed of a set of nation states blended into a single political power, might be more inclined to competition if not dominance. how do you see it? Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." COL 316.
Woody Posted April 9, 2012 Author Posted April 9, 2012 I think it would greatly hurt the US. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members phkrause Posted April 15, 2012 Members Posted April 15, 2012 HEY ALL I HEARD this a few weeks ago but some countries just want currency for the whole world and the POPE is backing this idea dgrimm60 What does that tell you. Good comment dgrimm Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Woody Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 HEY ALL I HEARD this a few weeks ago but some countries just want currency for the whole world and the POPE is backing this idea dgrimm60 I really don't think that the pope has any power over what the countries do. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members phkrause Posted April 21, 2012 Members Posted April 21, 2012 WOODY I THINK the pope does have a lot of influence on other countries especial catholic control countries and the Spirit of prophecy does say that false protestant churches will give the power back to the pope dgrimm60 You got that right dgrimm Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
hooverdamsel Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I personally think that the US is going down economically. I think you guys are going to crash. Look at what EG White said about economic confusion - about the leaders not knowing what to do - that is all happening. I think the moment that Greece defaults you guys should go and get your money out of the bank and keep it out for a month or two because they say within a few weeks the US will go down. Think about it. While all this has been going on, the IMF, World Bank etc are amassing funds in their banks, perfect for a resource for the new world order. When the economic system crashes then the whole world will be crying out for somebody or something to give answers. The prime minister of England has already said that they need a leader to oversee one economic system - those ideas are out there already. Perfect for the antichrist and beast to step in. This is just an educated guess but it would all fit into EG WHite and what she says. She talks about chaos and fires in NYork etc. Imagine a whole nation with no money to pay for pensions etc. Chaos. Happy to be wrong on this but it all seems to be lining up. I think we as a church need to be ready for desperate people looking for answers. Quote
Gordon1 Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I think we as a church need to be ready for desperate people looking for answers. It seems this was God's intention since Adam fell. But there is silence from the GC, the pulpits, Religious Liberty Association. Frozen like a deer in the headlights. Why? Because all are locked into the world. Same banks, payroll system, life insurance, retirement funds, stock portfolios. So can't really cry "Come out of her!" Quote

doug yowell Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 The USA is still the world's economic superpower. All eyes look to us for leadership as most foreign economies are intertwined with our success.Adios to the prophetic notion (remember them?) that the European Union is part of the fulfillment of last days world domination. Gordon1 Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 When one is an extreme debtor, one has little real power. Bluster perhaps, printer of a dominant currency, missile-maker, a large armed forces. The houses, cars, loans and credit-based lifestyle have imprisoned the once-richest country. What a nasty deception. Quote
CoAspen Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I'm really glad I live my life expecting the sun to come up tomorrow! I do not have any fears or worry about every political twist and turn. If God is in charge, why worry, is my motto. Those that hang on every twist and turn of the world waiting for some prophecy to be fulfilled are apt to be disappointed over and over as has happened many times in the past. I plan for a future in this world until such a time as God returns. Since He told us that 'no one' know when that will happen, I try to live my daily life expecting the world to go on. What does that relieve me of, not worrying about what the 'church' is doing or not doing, my neighbors private life, the preacher, the candlestick maker or the little boy down the lane! Life isn't perfect or the world we live in, but it can always be better or worse, depending on us and our message to the world. Either we tell others that Christ died for them and they have eternal life or gloom and doom will envelope them! It's all in the perspective!!! Quote

Gordon1 Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 It's all in the perspective!!! Sounds like a head-in-sand approach to the Advent message and the signs Christ told us to mark. Quote
Moderators lazarus Posted June 3, 2012 Moderators Posted June 3, 2012 It will be interesting to see if by 2020 Chinese SDA's will want to remake prophetic notions in the image of their new dominance of the globs. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence. Einstein

The signs and wonders that Christ spoke of were to let us know and remember, that His promises are true, not to worry or make ever changing scenarios to frighten the troops! Quote
Woody Posted June 3, 2012 Author Posted June 3, 2012 Exactly CoA. For sure we don't need more signs of His coming. We know all that and can rest in His promises. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
