Forgot what SDA church he used to attend, believe it was in Arizona. I don't believe he ever was baptized into the church. But many SDA knew him well. If I'm not mistaken the pastor of the AUC church knew him really well. I also believe from listening to his program that he got lots of his info from reading EGW.
