Well, the bills for all that “low-cost” government health care are starting to come in at a private college in Tampa Bay.

Students at Clearwater Christian College are starting to receive letters from the school notifying them that their student health insurance fees next term are going to more than double.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act adds some benefits, but one thing it doesn’t do is make health care more affordable.

Fox News reported on the case of one student who had paid $600 for his health fee this past year being billed more than $1,300 for the coming fall.

According to Clearwater administrators, the cost increases are directly attributable to Obamacare. The letter sent to students read, in part:

“Due to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA – commonly known as health care reform), the cost of student health insurance has doubled. In addition, most insurance carriers are hesitant to provide contracts for this insurance due to the unpredictability of the cost of the claims.”

Some Catholic universities, including Franciscan University in Ohio and Ave Maria University in Florida, have dropped student health insurance plans due to the Obama Administration’s mandate that they cover abortions, sterilizations and contraceptives, against Catholic teachings.

At least 43 Catholic organizations, including the University of Notre Dame, have sued the federal government over the Obamacare mandate.

Rep. Bill Young, who represents Clearwater, was among those in Congress who opposed Obamacare. He said, “Despite our warnings and telling our colleagues this was bad legislation, they passed the bill, and now we’re finding out that all of the things we told them are coming true.”

And worse is still to come.

Not getting sick really isn't the answer.

The increase in premiumns doesn't begin to cover the problems.Increase in premiumns does not equal quality care. It also means a decrease in medical services.

You don't have a choice in your insurance.

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.

You don't have a choice in your insurance.

It depends on your personal income. If the percentage of the premiums is greater than .08 percent of your total income, you can let Jesus be your insurance, without penalty from the national government.

Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. Isaiah 33:13-16

Obama has the kids paying for us old sick people, and for benefits they, and we old people, will never use.   How many single young men need birth control pills or pregnancy coverage?  How many couples past their 50's are ever going to need those same things?   However, everyone pays for it whether they will ever use it or not.

From talking to the nurses and doctors at the clinic I use not a one of them like Obamacare.  All of them think it is going to really affect the quality of medical care, and not for the better.  For example, my insurance carrier forced me to change my short term insulin.  Why?  I don't know and neither does the diabetes specialist I see.  She says she's had this happen before.  Some people are forced to change from A to B and others are forced to change from B to A.  It seems just be the insurance companies now forcing people to change just because they can.

The cost of medical insurance  depends quite a bit on the level and quality of care provided by the policy and the geographic location.  I have a son who is currently attending Iowa State University. The cost of his school medical policy is $1,434 per year.  I previously had him of a quality government program where I had to pay the full costs and the government did not contribute any amount to his policy.   That coverage cost me $2,220 per year.  HIs present coverage is a  lot less.

False messages have been circulated on the Internet that state that the Medicare will increase (or has increased) to the $260 - $275 range per month.  That is pure garbage.

The official Medicare cost for 86% of those on Medicare is officially $104.90 per month.  However, due to a quirk in the law, most people are only paying $96.40 per month because when Congress raised it to $104.90, Congress exempted most from that raise.

However, some 14% of Medicare people do pay a higher rate.  Those individuals who earn $85,000, or more a year and families who earn $170,000 per year do pay the highest fee.

NOTE:  There are some people who are paying $99.90 per month.  The Congrssional exemption is, as Congress usually does, a bit complex.

You can let Jesus be your insurance:  The Bible does not promise that Christians will be exempt from the problems of ageing.  In fact, for most people, the teaching of the Bible is that Christians will die and in our society today, death is typically an expensive process.  The choice of the Christian today is whether or not they want to plan for their death and that process.  By planning for coverage of clinical costs of care the Christian can maximize their choices and often how they chose to die.  By not planning they are often just leaving it up0 to fate, and for children and other relatives to have to take up the financial burden.

You are aware. I assume, that EGW stated that our institutions should prepare for loss by purchasing firer insurance.

One thing for sure that Obama has done to Medicare is that it has really become almost impossible to get a doctor.

Obama has hastened the bankruptcy of Medicare.  He took 3/4 of a $trillion out of it to fund Obamacare.  And yes, whenever you add millions of people and mandate coverages costs must go up.  There is no other way around this.  And, yes, Obama has done as much as he possibly can to hide these costs, such as telling the insurance companies that they are "on their honor" when claiming what their costs are that are to be reimbursed from the government and then hiding those costs by including them in costs that cannot be accurately accounted for in government spending.

You will see the results of this in the rise of deficit spending in the next few years.

I just got notification in the mail this week that my Medicare insurance premium is going up 25% due to ObamaCare.

Thanks a lot to all of you who voted for Obama. He wants to pay for his plan on the backs of the poor and aged.

Well mine went down, probably by the same as yours went up. So we've offset each other. My coverage is just as good if not better than before!!

Medicare coverage is the same for all of us.Some do not get better Medicare for less  money.

Your supplemental can go up or down.

Why should one senior citizen offset for another,no offense but I have enough trouble paying for min e without off setting your premium. If you remember one of the lies out of Obama's mouth,Obamacare would  not impact seniors, joke.

While we are paying slightly more for Prescription D we are getting less. A drug my husband is on is 258.00 without insurance. Before Obama started saving us money we paid a co-pay of 35.00,then last Dec it the co-pay went to 104.00,two mo nths later it was 135.00. Now we pay 158.00 co-pay
