Yes, It is kinda cool. It is a sign of the end of all things but seems like some of the Catholics and Protestants are not quite all together on the "One affirmation in that document stated: "All who accept Christ as Lord and Savior are brothers and sisters in Christ." part! - Q.E.D.

I've done the research and Catholicism has too many fallacies and beliefs that go against scripture. Gods word trumps the Pope any given day of the week.

The overriding issue is not “Evangelicals and Catholics together” or “Evangelicals and Catholics together getting born again.” Neither is the issue of Catholic doctrines that could never be reconciled with Jesus’ teachings neither with the writings of the Apostles Paul, John or Peter according to the New Testament in the Bible. The overriding and most important issue is how we all could become “one with Jesus” as Jesus is “one with the Father.”

We need to understand that the signing of an ecumenical document named “Evangelicals and Catholics together” is something written in order to have Evangelicals and Catholics being able to show a kind of “one spiritual face” to an unbelieving world. However, this is being done by only expressing to the outside world common points of faith between Evangelicals and Catholics without even considering the irreconcilable differences between them. Therefore, “Evangelicals and Catholics together” or “Evangelicals and Catholics together getting born again” has a much stronger “political agenda” than a real “spiritual agenda.”

EGW’ statement’s quoted above regarding the end being near should be considered within the context of Jesus’ teachings and within the context of the writings of Paul, John, Peter and James. This is the best way to teach Jesus’ message to the rest of the world and this is the best way to enable a skeptic world to become better aware how she is a truthful messenger from God instead of a being “self-appointed” messenger.

According to Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 7:1-5, when we look to Catholics and to the Catholic Church, we should not be primarily looking into the disastrous things its leadership has done in the past and into the bad consequences they brought against the advance of God’s kingdom on earth by their multiple erroneous doctrines. We should be primarily looking into how impossible it is for us to be the real light of the world if we are not truly connected with Jesus Christ. We should be looking into how much impediments we are generating against the advance of Jesus’ gospel when, at the personal level, we don’t live up to those teachings. I truly believe that we are living in really dangerous times. Instead of spending time and energy explaining to the world how much difference we have between Catholics and us, we should be telling the world how much difference is there between Jesus’ teachings and the world and how quickly the world is condemning itself to a sure and horrendous destruction whenever we disinvite Jesus Christ, the author of life, to lead our lives and our destiny.

Jesus said: My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27). Jesus used such illustration because sheep knew the distinctive voice of their pastor by his distinctive pitch, ring and tone. Therefore, whenever we read EGW’ statements we should be aware of the entire teachings in the Bible so through the Bible and EGW’ statements we could attain a deeper and more thorough understanding of God’s voice.

When we read: “When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss… then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near.”--5T 451 (1885) {LDE 131.4}, we should keep such declaration in the context of: “…You believe that... Good! Even the demons believe that —and shudder (James 2:19 NIV). We need to understand that the first time his majesty Satan became aware of that statement from EGW, he shuddered, because he understood that she was truly speaking from God and he also understood that when he crossed a line drawn on the sand by God, through His messenger, his end would be very near. Satan knows very well that God never bluffs whenever He speaks through His messenger; therefore, he is having a diminished appetite to gain world’s worship through a union of Evangelicals and Catholics that is disrespectful of biblical teachings. This does not mean that it will never happen; this just means that Satan is putting its main emphasis and most of his energies in disconnecting people from biblical teachings, as those teachings were understood by Jesus Christ and His most immediate and early followers. He just wishes to have the entire world on his side at the time his sentence of eternal destruction is executed.

We always need to remember Jesus’ goal: “…the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me” (John 17:23). However, the more we focus on the filthy rags that we have generated through history and the less we focus on Jesus’ goodness, the more difficult will be for Jesus’ goal for the world to be accomplished as stated in John 17:23.

We are very close to the end of this dispensation.

The times of apostate Judaism was over the end of 33 AD and now the times of the gentiles is about to end.

The appointed time is shortened,
