Maranatha convention - anyone going?

The Maranatha International Convention is this weekend in the Sacramento area.

Anyone here going? If so, I'll see you! If you don't know me, look for someone tallish and tired (I will have been car shopping. Car shopping is the pits; the salespeople wear you out, play mind games, get insulting, and on top of that you have to make a decision that can affect your comfort and $ flow for years. Yes, I will be tired, and I hate car shopping! I'd like to just give someone some $ and a list of my requirements, and let them do it for me).

No, to far away. :)

As far as the car shopping. Go to Kelly Blue Book: http://www.kbb.com/ and see what prices are/or should be. Also Edmunds (not sure of there website at the moment). Print it out and than go to see the car sales people. If you know what you want and have a price than they will be intimidated of you. I've bought cars for what they pay for it, to about $25 over there cost. There are options that if package together can bring the price down. Of course they wont tell you that. I once bought a chyrsler Cordoba for $25 more than the dealer paid for it. I got a print out of there costs and brought to them and said this is what I want and this is what I'll pay. He said fine. When I got home I looked up Edmunds and found out had I just ordered the tilt steering wheel I could've gotten more money off and than add the sun roof and paid even less. So it really pays to investigate before you go, or they really take advantage of you, especially if you are a woman, no disrespect intended. But you probably knew that already. Anyway good luck with your car purchase. And when I get the website for Edmunds I'll post it.

Thanks, PK. I traded my 11 yr old BMW in on a Hyundai Elantra. I am thinking the monthly payments on the new car will be about the same as upkeep has been on the old one recently.

No, wish I could be there.

Congratulations on your Hyundai. They are cool cars, hope you enjoy it. Yes, car shopping is horrid. I dislike it and was in the business for 18 years.

I was passing on information given me in error. Maranatha conventions isn't for a few months. But I'll be there!
