How important is a good memory

I find that most people I talk to about this can't remember where those passages of Scriptures are that they wish they could remember when they need them. It is the same with Mrs. White's writings. They can't remember where they read something if they remember anything at all let alone the page or the chapter or the book. It is too bad because a good memory can make the difference when studying with someone or for your own sake.

First one must spend time reading and reading the same things over and over again. But unless the Holy Spirit makes an impression you will more likely forget what you read.

I have noticed over the years that it is important to take the time to memorize your favorite quotes or passages of Scriptures as the Holy Spirit impresses the truth upon your mind and heart.
