Jon Paulien calls it, "God's horror show"

He had a different take on the fifth trumpet than I have traditionally learned, but a good one!

Here is the question to ponder:

How does that plague of locusts know, whose leader is Apollyon and who have power to torment for 5 months, who has the seal of God and who doesn't?

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Isn't the time to seal His people towards the end of the sixth seal, just before His second coming?

According to Jon Paulien's good friend Ranko Stefanovic, in Isaiah 9, the prophet uses the metaphor of the tail with reference to the false prophets who deceive people with their false teaching. In Revelation 12:4, Satan, symbolized as a red dragon, sweeps away a third of the angels with his tail which likely symbolizes his own deception in causing his followers to rebel against God. As such we should view the fifth trumpet more in spiritual terms. Those who have the seal of God cannot be deceived by Satan's lies.
