Pockey Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I noticed on the EGW site and also on the Ellen White app where it has all her writings, there is a series called SDA Bible Commentary but I believe it's all writte by Ellen White. Is this part of the standard SDA Bible Commentary or is this a separate version? Quote
Stan Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 There was Volume 7A, that was EGW comments. It was interesting, but not so much of a Bible commentary. Worthwhile finding and having. Gordon1 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Sid, to follow up Stan's post, the SDA Bible Commentary will fill a bookshelf, being about 10 large volumes. I considered it years ago, but passed when I saw it was mostly writen by SDA church scholars. I was looking for EGW sources. And it was quite expensive, hundreds of dollars as I recall. I'm not sure about the current offering. However, Volume 7A of the SDA Bible Commentary contains just the EGW quotations found scattered through the other Commentary volumes. By comparison, it's a thin volume but a good investment as Stan suggests. Unfortunately the last 50 pages is a confusing attempt to justify or promote the Questions on Doctrine book. Life is like that. Quote
skyblue888 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I have owned 7A for many years and I would not exchange this book for any other book for it is a divine commentary from Genesis to Revelation. It is filled with gems. sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
Administrators Gail Posted June 29, 2012 Administrators Posted June 29, 2012 Unfortunately the last 50 pages is a confusing attempt to justify or promote the Questions on Doctrine book. Life is like that. I hear ya. That's a philosophical way of looking at it. :) Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Pockey Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 It must be 7a then. Thanks for the info. Quote
skyblue888 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Gail, what is philosophical about what Gordon said about that section of 7A? :) Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
Administrators Gail Posted June 29, 2012 Administrators Posted June 29, 2012 I agreed with him. That's life. It happens... :) Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
skyblue888 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 ohhh i c :) Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
