Moderators Gerr Posted June 30, 2012 Moderators Posted June 30, 2012 I just want to announce that this card-carrying theological conservative has been certified as a liberal by the Woody Institute to Promote Liberalism. I just received the certificate this week. Thanks Woody. Quote

Woody Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Quote: And if I invoke executive privilege...? You have to join before invoking 'executive privilege'. lol You are as bad as Obama. I suppose when Obama is no longer president - he will still be trying to invoke 'executive privilege'. LOL Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Members phkrause Posted June 30, 2012 Members Posted June 30, 2012 Gerry all I can say is that if your considered a liberal, I guess that there are no conservative's on C/A. Of all the posters I would definitely consider you to be conservative in your posts. Besides if your liberal than I'm proud to be a liberal with you. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Moderators Gerr Posted June 30, 2012 Author Moderators Posted June 30, 2012 We must be liberal conservatives!!! Or is it conservative liberals? Quote

Gerry and I would love to have you as a member. Hey - this is why labels are so inaccurate. I consider myself as conservative. But, since I am liberal towards others - I proudly accept the liberal title. And from what I have seen Gerry post of late - I believe in the same things he does. Woody Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 We must be liberal conservatives!!! Or is it conservative liberals? I go with the "conservative liberal". Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members phkrause Posted June 30, 2012 Members Posted June 30, 2012 We must be liberal conservatives!!! Or is it conservative liberals? It works for me, either way, because personally I don't believe in either by themselves. As I've said on a few occasions, we can be conservative on one issue, and liberal on others! So what are we than? LOL Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Members phkrause Posted June 30, 2012 Members Posted June 30, 2012 Pk - do apply to become certified as a liberal. Gerry and I would love to have you as a member. Naaaa, not interested in applying to be certified as a liberal or a conservative. Members phkrause Posted June 30, 2012 Members Posted June 30, 2012 Hey - this is why labels are so inaccurate. I agree 100% with you on this. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

So what are we than? LOL True. But I would say that the labels are meant for one issue. Do you believe we are saved by faith or works. And I think you know which is which. I would put Gibs at one end and Gerry at the other. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members phkrause Posted June 30, 2012 Members Posted June 30, 2012 What would that issue be? And lets say I agree with you about Gibs and Gerry, how does that make you Liberal or Conservative, or maybe it should be asked this way. What does that have to do with being liberal or conservative? Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Woody Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Not sure what you question is. But let me spell it out. In my organization - I am offering "liberal" status if you believe as Gerry does. I would offer you "conservative" status for belief as Gibs believes in but I am do not belong to that organization. I can only offer membership to the organization that I myself belong to. LOL LOL Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

For if one has faith - one has works. I've never met someone who had the faith but did not have some sort of works. So to answer your question - yes that person would still be a liberal. It is easy to say I believe with your mouth but your heart is not in it. If your heart is not right then your good "works" mean nothing. The devils believe and tremble. My wife meet a youth pastor (non SDA) at a store. He was buying a fifth of whiskey and a case of beer for a party. I'm sure if you were to ask him, he would surely say he is on the faith side of the equation. If he is not liberal, then what is he? I work with people who have faith, yet see nothing wrong with using illegal drugs-freely admitting so. Quote

You are coming from the preception of perfection. My thought is that ALL good comes from God. If God can work through a donkey - he can work through one (even this pastor) who has limited faith. Having works is not an all or nothing statement. Having works is having SOME works. And even that donkey had SOME works. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. doug yowell Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Can I have my card now so I can put it next to my Man From U.N.C.L.E. membership card? Quote
Woody Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 In times past there has been great liberality on the part of our people. They have not been backward to respond to calls for help in the various branches of the work. But of late a change has come. There has been, especially with our Eastern brethren, a withholding of means, while worldliness and love of possessions have been increasing. There is a growing disregard of promises made to help our various institutions and enterprises. Subscriptions to build a church, to endow a college, or to assist in the missionary work are looked upon as promises which persons are under no obligation to fulfill if it is not convenient. These promises were made under the holy impressions of the Spirit of God. Then do not rob Him by withholding what rightfully belongs to Him. Brethren and sisters, look over your past life and see if you have dealt faithfully with God. Have you any unredeemed pledges? If so, resolve that you will pay them if it is within your power. {5T 153.2} Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

doug yowell Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 I'm glad that one side gets it right all the time. That's why it's difficult for liberals to ever be right. Quote
