Woody Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 MR No. 1216 - Experience Following the 1888 Minneapolis Conference; The Danger of Legalism Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
olger Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 I find righteousness by disobedience to be as useless as righteousness by obedience. Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Gibs Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 There were pockets of legalism at that time Woody but today it is just the oposite, it is liberalism that is rampant everywhere almost. It was legalism at the first coming but it is liberalism at the second. "Do not excuse yourself in any error. If you have one objectionable trait, which you find it difficult to subdue, do not talk of your weakness as something that others must bear with. Do not soothe your conscience with the thought that you cannot overcome the peculiarities that deform your character, nor listen to Satan's suggestion that they are not very grievous. There is no way by which you may be saved in sin. Every soul that gains eternal life must be like Christ, “holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners.” [Hebrews 7:26.] The followers of Christ must shine as lights in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation". {GW92 445.2} 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Woody Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 I find righteousness by disobedience to be as useless as righteousness by obedience. In the end - it only matters about the obedience of One. olger Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 We are not saved by obedience, but we will most definitely be lost because of disobedience. "Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them" (Colossians 3:6). "Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them" (Ephesians 5:6). All scriptures taken from the Good Book.. Rejoice always, `G Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Woody Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 I'll go to the bank of the obedience of Jesus. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Quite a statement. But it is true that it is not our obedience that the law wants but Christ's, not only imputed but also imparted by appropriating His merits to ourselves. sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." Administrators Naomi Posted July 3, 2012 Administrators Posted July 3, 2012 HEY ALL the thing we have to do is give self up and let JESUS in dgrimm60 And that is Just The Way It is :) Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
Gibs Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Self is a very big oponant to bring to the giving up. But it must be done, that ole self fella must be surrendered and nothing withheld. Then Jesus can come in and be the Master but He won't until self is dethroned and made submissive. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
