There is only one Leader safe to follow and that is Jesus Christ only. It is heartening to see these you brought up seeing this and I hope His Spirit leads them further that they will be saved in His kingdom freed from the bondage of sin.

Maybe the Lord will send the right teacher to them and His Spirit convicts them.

I don't think we should submit to the will of anyone at all.

Would that principle apply for first graders too?

I have to agree with EC. I don't think we should submit to first graders.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

There is a difference between following rules and submitting your will. A difference between opening up your mind to learning and subitting your will.

With that in mind - yes that applies to first graders. I would be horrified if my 7 year old submitted his will. In the end all that we have is our will. It makes us what we are.

Right On!

If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God

‎NIV84 ‎‎Ro 13:1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

ESV Acts 5:29 We must obey God rather than men.

Yes, but the question asked was about submitting to another's will not our submitting our will to another's will. And I'm guessing that it also excluded the submission of our will to God's will?

Gerry,

I would differ in the fact that, "if" the the powers that be are established of God. Then Yes. But Satan is the god of this world and he has established most of the ruling powers in this world today.

If you hold tight to Romans 13:1 you will be keeping the Sunday before long.

Notice now verse 3 of the same chapter,

Ro 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

"do that which is good", well could you obey an evil ruler and keep Sunday at his command over God Almighty?

For me the answer is NO!

Gerry, I see we agree. And a note here of is there anyone we should submit our will to?

Yes, Yes, His name is Jesus Christ. We must fall on Him and be broken of our will and then to be of His Will only. Then dead of the old man and a new one walking with Him.

Excellent Point Gibs. The Earth IS Satan's domain.

God is always first and our will must be submitted to Him. That is a very sure must.

And,

Ac 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

For SDA's on the forum, a word from EGW,

"Let each individual member of the church feel that he is responsible in a large measure for the strength and prosperity of the church. While you do to the very utmost of your ability, God will as surely do his part, giving you divine enlightenment. God will work, and you must work to the same end to accomplish the same purpose, as faithful soldiers of an army work in harmony with the plans and purposes of their officers. Our will must be surrendered to the will of God. These churches that are small may be living, healthy, strong churches. {RH, September 27, 1887 par. 22}
