Being a lover of animals with a recognition of their desire to please their masters, I wonder sometimes if the term "dumb animals" wouldn't more appropriately belong to the masters. After all, it probably is true that there has never been a case of animal instigated genocide. Not to mention that it isn't the animal that can't understand us. It's usually the other way around.
