Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted July 18, 2012 Administrators Posted July 18, 2012 Here is George Will's succinct observation... Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. bonnie Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Here is George Will's succinct observation... Following that reasoning there must be a reason why Obama has had so many of his records sealed Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted July 18, 2012 Author Administrators Posted July 18, 2012 So you are suggesting that Romney can assert executive privilege, i.e. potential risk to national security, for his personal finances? bonnie Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 So you are suggesting that Romney can assert executive privilege, i.e. potential risk to national security, for his personal finances? [cough] non sequitur...[cough] Executive Privilege,Really? That belongs to Obama lately as refusing to release your income tax returns is only a personal decision. Obama and his communist/marxist/socialists close associations from birth till now concern me a lot more. I wish Romney would release them as anything as simple as saying the sun comes up in the east would be scrutinized. I don't care how much Romney has made just as I couldn't care less what you make. I would like to see more of Obama's records as his associations and behavior indicate it could be revealing. His potential threat to national security may be viewed as a lot higher. Leaks and Fast and Furious are some recent occurances where I would like to see something besides "Executive Privilege" Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. bonnie Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Can you quote the law that says a presidential candidate is required to release as many tax returns as the other side demands? Or where executive privilegeenters in? I met someone the other day that seemed to have problems with "rolling eyes".Just watched for awhile, didn't ask his name, Could it have been you? Guest Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I don't want to get on a tangent here, but I know that there's been this ongoing discussion of whether or not Romney ought to release more tax returns. I got home yesterday afternoon and I saw practically the entire Republican establishment thinks he should. What an asinine thing to suggest. The National Review, a big, long editorial explaining why Romney should do this. It was silly. I'm convinced people on our side in the establishment don't know who we're up against. This is not commonplace politics-as-usual. You can't reason with these people. So Obama and the Democrats are demanding that Romney release more tax returns and people on our side, "Well, I think he should. I think he should get the issue off the table." It's not gonna get the issue off the table. The Obama people don't want Romney's tax returns released so they can find out if they're aboveboard. It doesn't matter what they say. They're going to be mischaracterized and used to hurt Romney. Romney's right to hang in tough on this. I couldn't believe this was even a matter that people would think about for longer than five or ten seconds 'til I saw all these names of people on our side. National Review, George Will, I mean the list is long, Bill Kristol, people that think Romney ought to do this. You can't reason with these people. Why would we want to acquiesce to their demands? Why would we want to please them? Why would we want to get their approval? We ought to be the ones making demands that Obama release things and come clean. We ought to be making demands that the media finally go vet the guy and tell us all who he really is. We already know. They continue to try to hide it. ...Rush Limbaugh Quote

[cough] non sequitur...[cough] Obama has never released his college transcripts. Obviously he doesn't want people to see either the classes he took or the grades he got. I don't think it has anything to do with executive privilege. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Dr. Shane Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 President Obama loves to engage in class warfare and that gets his base all excited. He needs to get his base excited. This is a non-issue as far as I am concerned. Obama is on the attack. Over 90% of his TV ads are attack ads. The reason he wants to see the tax returns is so that he can attack Romney's wealth more. Maybe we should be more concerned about unemployment. People are still losing their homes, cars and credit ratings. Obama wants to talk about anything except the economy. Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted July 19, 2012 Author Administrators Posted July 19, 2012 It took eight years of Bush to create the mess. Amazingly, people were calling Obama a failure for not fixing it within a year of taking office. And let's not forget that Congress has a huge role in the mess and the failure to fix it. And let's not forget that Congress has a huge role in the mess and the failure to fix it. So you are saying that Bush created the housing mess? Bush dealt with a democratic congress and senate from 2006-2008. What part of the mess did a democratic congress and senate thru 2010 play? Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Dr. Shane Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I can't believe that educated people actually blame Bush for the problem. I understand Democratic Party hacks that claim that but how can anyone that actually thinks about things believe that? The problem started before Bush took office. Part of the problem was selling homes to people that couldn't afford them. The other part was the Federal Reserve lowering interest rates so low that money became cheap. Bush actually tried to do something but Congress (both parties) prevented him from doing so. President Obama has made things worse. He got sidetracked with healthcare. While he was trying to get healthcare passed, thousands of Americans were losing their jobs, homes and credit ratings. I am sure the financial problems in peoples lives probably also led to the break up of homes and families. Obama took his eyes off the ball. He is out there now spouting off that the Republicans don't have a plan. He claims all they have is rhetoric. He needs to shut his mouth and listen a little more. It is called energy, Mr. President. Open the energy sector. He claims he is worried about the middle class. Think energy, Mr. President. Jobs in oil fields and coal mines are good paying jobs that will grow the middle class. And many support industries also provide good paying, middle class jobs. Coal, oil and natural gas are "shovel-ready" jobs. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor...
