Five thousand years ago, Moses said:

"Pack your camel, pick up your

shovel, mount your [donkey] and I

shall take you to the promised

land."

Five thousand years later, F. D. R. said:

"Lay down your shovel, sit on your

[donkey] and light up a Camel, this IS

the promised land."

Today, [someone] will tax your shovel, sell

your camel, kick your [donkey], and

tell you there is NO promised land.

MORAL

I AM GLAD I AM AN AMERICAN

I AM HAPPY I AM FREE

BUT I WISH I WERE A GREAT DANE

AND YOU-KNOW-WHO WERE A TREE.

I found the above in some of my mother's papers. She was referring to the governor of her state at the time, but I thought it appropriate for today.
