Moderators Nan Posted July 27, 2012 Moderators Posted July 27, 2012 wonder if that means to the man's perception, the woman's perception or both. Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted July 27, 2012 Author Members Posted July 27, 2012 I think it would be from the woman's perspective. The man wouldn't have a clue... I know a man like that now and he happens to be a pastor, a very good and loving and caring pastor, but outside of the church, his wife controls him and the family. Quote
JoeMo Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 You are both women, obviously. Would you prefer a man who dominates you, defers to you, or is reasonably "in the middle" (realizing that "in the middle" is a relative thing)? I think opposites attract and complement each other. People can't really help the personality they are born with. Some are inherently "laid back"; some are "control freaks"; and some are indeed in the middle. Some wear their emotions on their sleeves; and some are impossible to read. Especially in a "married" situation, people are generally the way they are because their spouse empowers them to be that way. As long as a couple is happy together, does it really matter which one of them is dominant? Quote

Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted July 27, 2012 Author Members Posted July 27, 2012 You are both women, obviously. That's rather a sexist comment, JM... Quote: Would you prefer a man who dominates you, defers to you, or is reasonably "in the middle" .. that's not even being discussed... I think it does, if it involves feeding the "neediness" of another...by the time of adulthood, an individual should have gone through the mother-child psychological issues... olger Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Dominance is not necessarily a bad thing. When combined with love, your love becomes dominant. Dominance + hostility = bad. rejoice always, g Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

JoeMo Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 rudiwoofs, "Sexist comment"? You're name is Pam; OzarkWoman's name is - well... I don't know of any men who would be on this forum who would call themselves OzarkWoman. "the more a man defers to a woman...." (quote from your 1st post) Yes it is being discussed. Just because a woman is strong doesn't mean her man is "needy". Aren't you readin negativity into things where there is none? Complimenting each other does not mean "neediness". I can tell we're gonna get along famously .... Quote
Members rudywoofs (Pam) Posted July 28, 2012 Author Members Posted July 28, 2012 JM, your first comment, about the obviousness of OzarkWoman and me being female seemed rather sarcastic to me...perhaps you didn't mean it that way. Quote: "the more a man defers to a woman...." (quote from your 1st post) Yes it is being discussed. ..that's not what you wrote and what I quoted you as writing.. LifeHiscost Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Quote: As long as a couple is happy together, does it really matter which one of them is dominant? When I told a woman that my wife and I hadn't had an argument in the 20 years we had been married, she commented "Oh!Oh! Somebody must really be unhappy." That was a good clue she hadn't matured enough to know she didn't know everything and it wasn't a weakness to let her husband have his opinion, even when she knew he was wrong and it might inconvenience her normal activity to let it be. It's called selfishness. God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
LifeHiscost Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 I think when applied to God our Father, who is Love I can accept that Og. I have yet to see any other human being besides Jesus, practice that unselfishly. Some people are better at it than others, but it is those who yield their life over to God who do it best. Quote: Dominance = dominate = Rule, Control Who do you know, Og, that has found happiness in that kind of relationship? God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!

The "man" to whom the comment was referring was/is the one who is has put himself, subconsciously (hopefully), in the role of a child in need of a parent. Lots of research into the areas of Object Relations and Transactional Analysis has been done, relating to this. Quite interesting. I'm a trained relationship coach, but my biggest credential is that I've been blissfully married for 20 years. But it wasn't always that way. I used to use all the wrong words and actions to attract and keep a man in my life. In fact, I almost lost my husband completely until I learned the secrets and tools I want to share with you. My relationship changed in ways I never imagined, and I want you to have the same love and happiness I do. If I can do it, and my clients can do it, YOU can do it! This is one of the ads to the side of the forum topic. I'm thinking maybe the social pathologist might be able to use it. God Blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!!
