Gibs Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Heb 4:11 ¶ Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. And so I do, and He has come to tabernacle with us, to be with His Own. The Sabbath takes us further than Heb 4: and it is about our rest. I have stayed with the subject but you want to dictate to me how and what. I don't need that. Thanks. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Robert Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 Heb 4:11 ¶ Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. "That rest" isn't the Sabbath. It's the gospel. When you accept the gospel then the Sabbath becomes a sign that "in Christ" I am complete and I can't add anything to what God did in Christ. God was in Christ reconciling the human race to Himself. Quote
Robert Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 Heb 4:11 ¶ Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest (God's rest), lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Context: Heb 4:1 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. 2 For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith. 3 Now we who have believed enter that rest (His rest - i.e., the gospel).... God's rest is the gospel accepted. Quote
