Tell me, Woody, how is it done? The failing part, I mean. Couldn't you paint between the lines?

The part that always annoyed me about those was that the spaces that were too small to print a number had the number printed in another space with an arrow to the tiny space, so that when you painted the bigger space, the number and arrow were obliterated. The challenge in these things was to try to paint all the same color at once so that you didn't have to be washing your brush too often. And then there were th paints that were too thin to hide the printed number (never choose a picture having lots of white). When you were finished, you showed the ugly thing to your Mom, and then in a few weeks someone threw it away. Nobody minded. Even the artist, who would be too ashamed to sign it.

I have two of those done by my dad, who would have been 101 in April. I treasure them because he did them, not because they are works of art.(they definitely aren't)

Yup- exactly!

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
