When I was a kid growing up on a farm I use to walk barefoot through the feed lot in the cow manure but can't say that is my favorite place to walk barefoot.

My favorite place to walk barefoot is in clean, shaggy carpet.

Where is your favorite place? Freshly cut grass? Cool, wet sand on the beach? Between satin sheets?

I don't know about walking, but I like putting my feet in a lake or stream where the minnows or tadpoles can nibble on them. It tickles :)

As a young boy, walking in the ruts of the roadway in the summer time near Sprague, WA, on my uncle's wheat farm. What made it so enjoyable was the fact that the ruts were filled with dust, as fine as talcum powder, that would cover our feet and share the warmth of the sun that was responsible for the dust since there had been no rain for a very long time.

When autos drove down the road about 30 MPH they would leave billowing dust for about a half mile behind them before it would settle. And when it arrived at its' destination there was dust covering the whole of the interior of the car.

God blesses! peace

My whole childhood was spent walking barefooted. It's a wonder I survived the punctures from thorns and glass cuts while walking on all kinds of manure. Unless absolutely necessary, I don't walk barefooted anymore, thank you.

I still love to go barefoot at every opportunity, however, I no longer walk in the feed lot or chicken pen. My Family Dr gave me an article a few months ago written in the New England Journal of Medicine which said that children who went barefoot in cow manure were more healthy as adults than those who didn't have the opportunity. Something about absorbing all the minerals.

I prefer the carpet or beach; satin sheets isn't bad either :)

Yeah grass is great but I'm with Bravus, the Beach is best. Water and sand. Carpets, wood floors, even tiles nice and cold are great too.

It's got to be the beach.

The sand could be wet, or dry, warm or cool, small size or larger - all varieties gives a pleasant unique experience.

I agree, Nich.

Warm? Yes, for sure.

But forget hot, eh! Too many bad memories from my childhood (not too mention my aldultery adulthood adultness since I was grownup...)

The beach is nice, but after walking a mile or so, unless your feet are very tough, they begun to feel as if someone has run a belt sander over your soles.

[looking quizzically] do you pumice your feet every night, LynnDel?

If you walk barefoot on the beach regularly, you wouldn't need to ever pumice your feet.

Lacking that, a diamond file should work great...
