olger Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 "In the time of trouble just before the coming of Christ, the righteous will be preserved through the ministration of heavenly angels; but there will be no security for the transgressor of God's Law. Angels cannot protect those who are disregarding one of the divine precepts." Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Administrators Naomi Posted August 3, 2012 Administrators Posted August 3, 2012 That is a very strong statement and one not be taken lightly. The very thought of not having the protection of angels at the time we need then most is enough to send me to my knees and Bible. skyblue888 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Olger, could u give the reference? Thanks. I wish you had produced this statement in the discussion, Are You Redeemed? or What is sin? Problem is you might have been labeled a "legalist" or a "drama queen" for disturbing the peace of the redeemed! oh oh sky :) Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." skyblue888 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Gordon, where have you been all this time? When the fierce winds of false doctrine were blowing and the trees at the top of the hill were violently shaken, where were you? sky :) Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." Gordon1 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Hi Sky - I've noticed much debate on these topics, but I'm not a debater. Debate tends to give Satan's views a pulpit, and leads to unbelievers railing against God's Divine Order, as witnessed with "womens' ordination". Did you think I was drooling over beach volleyball with the "redeemed", alternately praising God and flesh? Not so. Quote
skyblue888 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Did you think I was drooling over beach volleyball with the "redeemed", alternately praising God and flesh? Not so. Gordon1 _______ Whew! not to put it mildly! sky _______ I've noticed much debate on these topics, but I'm not a debater. Gordon1 _______ As to "debating" I know where you are coming from but are we to abandon our posts? What would happen if one holy angel abandoned his post? In God's order, mind you, there is room for debate and even contentions over words and ideas but it must be to some purpose. The testimony of Jesus on this is: First 2 Timothy 2:14 is quoted and then explained. "Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers." Followed by this commentary: "What does this means? It means that there may be contentions over words and ideas, but they should be to some purpose; they should be to break down the stubbornness and the opposition that is in human hearts in order that their spirits may be softened and subdued, so what when the seeds of truth are dropped into the soil of the heart, they may take root there." E.G. White, 7 B.C.917 or 7A 361. It is a true science and one that we should all be studying that we may become more efficient in the work of God. But thanks for your reply. Glad to know your are still around! sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." S.C.36.
Gibs Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Hey you all, it is no risk witnessing the the truth especially of the most important issue I know of. SALVATION. The theme of all our thoughts and praise to Him who made it possible. In Christ Jesus, I am not afraid in the least to post the truth and am driven to do so. I can do nothing else but as best I know how to battle the false. Satan has plenty of it out there to trap the would be saints and guess where his crowning work is done. THE SALVATION ISSUE! 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ

skyblue888 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 If we are speaking as holy angels we are safe. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally Posted By: skyblue888 "...they should be to some purpose; they should be to break down the stubbornness and the opposition that is in human hearts in order that their spirits may be softened and subdued..." - EGW Perhaps there is evidence of diminishing stubbornness & opposition. (??) Some entries from the EGW Index (book) under "Debate": • "advocates of truth should not seek" - 1T 624 • "avoid, whenever possible" - 3T 203, 424-8 _______________________________________________ Not sure what you meant by "if we are speaking of holy angels we are safe" ... if they were to leave their posts, what would happen? you did not address that... Of course there will always be the potential for diminishing stubbornness and opposition whatever that means... I agree, we are not to seek debates but the fact is contentions cannot be avoided,,, and we are to make the best of them,,, in order to break down the stubbornness and opposition in human hearts... sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf."
